Family Tradition Farms
Добавлен 28 апр 2021
Our family has one tradition that stands out above all the rest, and that's the love of agriculture. As our little family grows in SW Indiana, we want our children to be able to look back on where we got our start and why our farm is called Family Tradition Farms. We use only sustainable agriculture practices and are committed to leaving a better future for our children. Follow us as we raise crops, chickens, and children!
Spinning Ditches With The John Deere 4430
Water is a good thing in moderation. Here on my farm, we are very flat and often struggle with ponding. Surface drainage is a very important part of rasing a crop for us. Tag along as we spin some dirt!

The End of Tractors On Our Farm?! DRONES Spreading Cover Crop Seed
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.3 месяца назад
Drones are beginning to become a very common piece of equipment in farmer's sheds. These machines allow applications of fungicide, herbicide, insecticide, and even seeding to be done without leaving a footprint in the field. Aerial application is often faster, and more cost effective than a traditional ground rig. These #dji drones can carry over 100 lbs of cover crop seed, which allows us to b...

Why I Farm - Crop Tour and Operation Updates

After taking some time away from RUclips, I remembered why I started making videos in the first place; So that one day, my kids could look back and see where we started. Come hang out with me for a little bit while I discuss where the #farm is on #corn and #soybean growth, new #johndeere equipment, and why I work so hard to make this #dream a reality.

Getting the Farmall 806 Ready for Spring Planting
Interesting. I would never be able to figure out where to trench (drain).
I just pay attention throughout the growing season, and that tells me where water stands
I love the titan 2 combines. None better
سلام من ایرانی هستم اگر میتونی کمکم کن یه پهباد بخرم .
Watching the combine at work is mesmerizing
Put a larger sprocket on the end of the cross auger to slow it down. It's running way too fast!
On the head? Do you think that is why it is flinging ears forward?
@@familytraditionfarms Yes... I would go to the best Deere mechanic you know and ask him how to slow it down. You have two streams of ears coming together and they're getting 'flung' out. i would slow it to half the speed... jmo.
Hello, how much does it cost to install this grain monitoring equipment on an old combine? greetings.
I'm not sure it came with the combine. It is a Loup system
Hey Matt. I enjoyed your video. I have a question. I just bought a 6620 Titan 2. To me it idles high. Around 1300 rpms. Does yours idle that high as well?
Yes it does
Congrats on harvest 2024 completed. I’m just north east of Louisville. In Indiana. Small time operation. What would we do if we didn’t have something to work on
Need to re-torque your prop bolts friend. Break the blue locktite seal….clean the threads….re-locktite and set torque to 3.43NM OR 30.37 in lb. Hope that helps Mate.👍👊🤞✌️👌
Don’t give up. I know exactly what you feel like. But …. You can’t stop what won’t quit!
I am happy you may have found a better bean variety;
Titan 2 combines. Wonderful wonderful machines if u take care of them. Not good enough for you? Id buy it
Great video! With the data you were showing reminds me of Matt Griggs lol
I've got no reason to keep my data a secret. The only thing sharing it will do is help others make informed decisions
get an 66 or 88 series case ih combine you wont be sad
It's 36 years old! Stuff is going to break down it. Buy a 36 year old combine from some other brand and see what breaks on it...
Couldn't you just drop down to close to 13850 population and use that instead of putting in that other sprocket?
If you have a dealer close, get a Massey
Looks like you've taken care of this machine. It's probably 40 years or more old.
Have a great day!😊
I am a small farmer in sw Indiana farming with old red equipment this is a channel I can relate to
I love to hear this! Us small sw indiana guys gotta stick together!
Sometimes, a curse can be a blessing in disguise. I presume that Skip Row will give you lots of knowledge.
My thoughts exactly
Beautiful 806!
I HAD A 6620 4430 AND 806 ALL GOOD MACHINES
Cylinder not fast enough especially in tough stuff, concave maybe not tight enough but with cracks that might not be. Could be just John Deere 20 series problems. They were never known to keep it in but live forever. 14-25 series international kept alot more in. Not biased but the international kept more grain in the tank than the deere 20,00,10 series
I can’t get over the 30 gallon barrel of fuel, we burn that in one combine in 4 hours… but that being said you’re doing awesome, takes all kinds and I love watching you and smaller older equipment
Good to see you
Howdy, I'm new to your channel, just subscribed today, I Farm with my Family as well, 5th generation beef Farmers, up here in Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 I've been looking to find a video, that says where ya'll Farm, but even your info explaining when you started filming on RUclips, doesn't say where ya'll Farm, can you share where ya'll Farm, Thank you Stay safe, God Bless, and Farm on my Friends
We are located in South Western Indiana
@@familytraditionfarms Thank you
Love how they are takeing there time and plus they don't need 10 combines with 35 foot headers just to do 1 field like these farmers nowadays and plus u can work on that one without the computer crap and all that dam beeping ass gps crap all day long
Hell yea. nice upgrade. Still, you'll love the rotors when you get those tho. I've worked on one of those 6600 and a 9400 a lot =p Hell yea =p I love that your still running a 6600 series.
Heh, we ran a 1066 and a 6600 combine... Good stuff. You will love the 9400 though, You will not regret upgrading the combine.
I could watch your gardening videos all day long
What happened to the 404¿
Only conbime ive ever harvested corn with awesome man
So basically a 4440 with a lighter rear end! But the 4430 stickers do look better!
I subscribed you, because your videos have many useful information
👍 from SE.Iowa
North Central, here.
I’d be HIGHLY interested in a walk around and explanation of your truck set up. Generator, chargers, flight deck setup, etc! looks like a cool setup!
let the machine roll 😂
Nice looking 6620
I've run my share of 7720 and 8820 combines. There is a mirror on the other side. Also backup / rear view cameras are cheap. Much cheaper than a wreck.
Trying to understand why they think they are more important than a person who feeds a nation and take a chance. I hope you will not suffer when you Die and hope under stand what you did because you were in a hurry .
Need to fix those props
Cool!
Family!‘sup?, yo! total well drone! ;)
We’re a small southern Indiana Farm. We’re just north east of Louisville Kentucky. Right on the river. I just ran across your channel. Keep up the good work.
That’s awesome and glad to see ya back. Love the old ways of farming. I grew up 40-60 and 8000 series tractors. Learned to drive on MF1805.
Enjoying the look into farm life. Thanks for the update.
Our pleasure!
where are you located? what did you do with your old planter parts?
I am located in Southern Indiana. Most of the old parts ended up in the scrap pile. I dont have the luxury of replacing parts until they are fully worn out lol
@@markcharlton9020 I'm west central Michigan. Old planter didn't have Precision meters
Just got a planter with Precision meters. There's no L tool in the brush hole...how can I adjust these?
The L tool is sometimes sold separately. A flat head screw driver will also work, just be careful not to round it out.
Used small screw driver
That was awesome 👌 😮you just learned me something new
Glad you liked it!
