Let me tell y'all something...back in the early '80s my auntie and her friends used to literally throw their wigs at the TV, cry, and roll on the floor while watching Ms. LaBelle on the floor model. I knew they were drunk, but also thought they were insane. Now in my 40s...baby...if I had a wig to throw, I'd be throwing it at this computer screen, 'cause the tears are already flowing!

Love this song. Larry Levan use to pump this so good at the Paradise Garage. OMG it was like church the way the music would get into us while we were on the dance floor. No other club had a sound system so amazing. It was an amazing experience hearing great music through that system. Thanks to Richard Long for building it and to Larry for knowing how to work it. Some of the best times of my life because Music is my Life!!!❤❤❤

Aretha is the Queen. Be sensible. Patti was mediocre at best, especially in the 70s - he voice peaked in the 80s and 1990s - but it was never a great voice in terms of beauty of sound or tone - on the contrary it was an ugly voice - very nasal at this time - and thin - and the agility was average at best - with limited technical skill or artistry and poor phrasing.

She's has the distinction of not just having ridiculous talent, but also impeccable control and musical instinct, and unshakable confidence, to me that puts her at the top and her long career and multi generational influence proves the music industry was wrong and she was right for sticking to her guns, most teenagers into soul music of all races come across these performances and are immediately enamored with her style, when most of her career she was criticized for her voice we see it was always jealousy, and thank God she never gave in

@@GPlatinum08 I had the album and there are other gems on it, even the Sincerely remake it a sice song but for them it wasnt a big seller, after a slew of top 40 pop hits, none of the songs here made the top 40 or even the top 20 in the r and b charts. it had more of a gospel feel to it
@@jeffthekillercriticremixer5968 being released on the "pop up" indie RED LABEL, it never had a chance to do any off the things you mentioned. The awesome part is it is still selling today around the world as an import and rare find!
