Thank You. I’ve been away from Faceting for a long time and am very glad you covered the black wax dopping method as it’s what I cut my teeth on long ago. As I recall, we (in class) made a lacquer using black wax and alcohol to apply before dopping. I’ve forgotten that recipe. We also used a incandescent light source to get the stone and dop the same temp. Anyway thanks again .

I think it's important to note that these specific instructions are used for Re-Cuts (re-cutting of damaged, already faceted stones) however, the instructions are similar for new Rough Stones. Many of the same principals apply.
Excellent video thank you Boyd! I have red wax from 1990, got it with my first Facetron in South Africa. Seems the black is better, I’ve never seen anyone using the red jewelers wax here in the USA. Rio Grande no longer gas black dopping wax, only green. You’re a great teacher!
Black Wax is "the bomb". It is the best, all-round faceting dop wax IMO. I won't and don't use anything else.
