We’re the Taylor family, and for the next 12 months, we will be traveling the world (taking a family gap year)!
Exploring new places and experiencing new cultures has always been our passion; we are saying bye to the “norm” and setting off to do just that.
We’re selling our home, cars, and most of our possessions, hitting “unpause” on adventure, and experiencing more of what this beautiful world has to offer, all while making incredible memories as a family and growing closer together.

Thank you! We have been to other islands in the Pacific during the wet season (December) and had amazing weather. It did rain some days but it usually didn’t last long. Enjoy your trip!

Why dont you use bug repellent? Fire ants are dreadful too. On my 6th visit this March i got massacred by the wee mongrels. Usually only deal with mosquitoes 🦟
We use bug repellent but we don’t want to wear it all the time especially inside. We also tried the coils to help with mosquitoes but those didn’t make us feel well even in well ventilated areas (outdoors). Even with some bug bites, we still LOVED our time in Rarotonga! I’m jealous you have been there six times 😍
What about Lifts?
We are not sure if Lyft or Uber is available be on this island, we wouldn’t think so because we only saw one taxi.
Raro is such a cool place, it's like New Zealand in the 90's... some parts of NZ are still this laid back. I love it. what a beautiful lagoon aye. I've never swam with turtles before despite being to Raro 2x.
watched a few of your guys vids. We are a family on a similar path to you guys. We've been on the road around New Zealand for 2 years... We started our travel, by coming to the USA, and working at a summer camp in North Carolina, skipping our winter and arriving back to our camper for full time adventures. We've loved the life style, and are eyes are opened to what else is possible... We think similar to you, that health is not guaranteed in older age, and we will know our children as adults far longer than as kids, so we are grateful to create these memories together.
Thanks for watching some of our videos! Sounds like you guys are having a lot of fun and I cannot wait to see what your next adventure will be. It's so true, you only have a short amount of time of your kids being kids. We love finding other families who have the same mindset as us. Happy and safe travels!
