@@DiecastCelestial '57 Chevy has been around since 1977. They have used all colors and then some. I would have preferred they did it in Metallic mint or better yet the White one. So we would have a black one ,and white one like last year's '70's Van did.

Hi buddy. As a matter of fact not only datsun but 64 dodge and ford thunderbird also have metal base. Recently hot wheels have implemented a new policy, such sets are placed in between base hot wheels and hot wheels premium in terms of cost. Hence by just adding few models with base metal, which of course gives a premium feel due to more weight, but rest of the models with base level plastic base, they have created a new category hence more revenue. This is my personal opinion.
