The Conno is not really that deep and gets crazy shallow in the summer. But there are some deeper holes around and below the Zelie Airport. Have fun out there.

Couldn’t disagree with you more @stevehrp Archery - the sport, practice, or skill of using a bow to shoot arrows. There are many different types of bows: longbows, recurve, compound and crossbows. If I cared more about the distanced, ignorant opinion of a guy at a keyboard, I’d love to know how this is more like a firearm that uses an explosive powder and supersonic projectile. But I don’t care that much. Great first ARCHERY deer!

Steve, this is hunting a sport where we are lacking in numbers and the younger community. Regardless of the weapon of choice we have, a young lady spending time in the woods with her dad. With comments like yours, you must be part of the less fortunate.

Sorry for the late response. I have never been on that stretch. We usually put in 4-5 miles above the ranger station in Cooks Forest. How was your float from Ridgeway to Halton?

@stevenskerbetz6134 It was awesome on Sat. We caught a lot of smallies and a couple of trout. It rained Sat evening, not bad at our camp site, but evidently bad north of us. We got up Sunday morning, and the river had come up over 6 ft. We had to hike from just south of Portland Mills down to Arroyo. That kicked our butts.... Then we paid Lazy River canoe rentals to go down and get out kayaks after the river settled down.

Sometimes they are just stacked up. Just takes a bit of exploring to find out where the state dumped all the buckets. :)
