I would say because if we restrict our self in fiqh when we talk about madzhab, Ustadh's answer is the correct one because no one knows if their ijtihad is the absolute correct even the aimmatul madzahib themselves. For example to enlighten this topic about the so-called 'correctness' of one madzhab, Imam Asy-syaafi'i is the one that originally made an opinion that Allah doesn't accept ones recitation to a dead person (قراءة القرآن للميت) while Imam Ahmad says that Allah accept it. It is the later generation of said Imams followers that changed the tradition within the madzhab. Therefore rendering this whole 'which madzhab is correct' debate useless...

But if we talk about aqidah, then the hanbali madzhab is the most correct one (athari) like the famous quote "من لم يكن حنبليا فليس بمسلم"

Assalamualaikum Just curious, why do people say they don't follow a Madhab, but the say we follow ibn utheymeen and bin baz. If they don't say that, they say they follow Quran and sunnah, and majority times quote ibn utheymeen and bin baz. An established school well recognized for 1200 years. Built upon many 100's of scholars. Would rather have their understanding than these scholars. And that is no offense to these two suookh.

@@mohammadsahalshahid9141 Wa3alaikum salam If you have the ability to follow a madhab (that is: to know usul al fiqh, to know the usul of your madhab, to know the hundreds of opinions in your madhab for each mas'ala) then you can say that you follow a madhab. Otherwise, you follow a sheikh. This is "taqlid". If you follow sheikh al uthaymeen, the sheikh was himself following the hanbali madhab in most cases but did go out of the madhab on some questions. If someone says "I don't follow any madhab I follow Quran and Sunnah" he is mistaken because all 4 madhahibs are upon Quran and Sunnah - in most issues. Al hamdullah
