This video was done specially to people that are bedridden and can not walk at this moment, so that this video could take them to a walk in one of the most beautiful Avenues of the world. I would be enormously happy if this video could be used in palliative care units throughout in the world to help patients feel better taking a walk through virtual reality.

The original Dubrovnik 1950 chess set in the Central Square of Dubrovnnik, 64 years after the 1950 Chess Olympiad held in Dubrovnik! Hope this will be the beginning a tradition and this set will come to Dubrovnnik every 64 years!
Is this box with the 60mm squares? Do you happen to know the diameter of the king and were the games itself also played on these big squares?
Dubrovinks have the best grip especially the flatter knights and the cross-less king...it will look odd at first but it will quickly grow on anybody who owns it ( wood or plastic)...beautiful set

1950, First Olympiad after the chaos of WWII and this was the chosen design, Dubrovnik. 16 nations doing battle in bloodless war, in an atmosphere of "we gather here to celebrate chess." Afterwhich tons of Intl tournaments were played in Europe with the new pieces. So in a way, these marked the modern age of top level competition. I like to believe the set, of Religious-less design, is also a symbolism of the defeat of Nazism. And chess is a universal game, so why should the men have religious marks? Perhaps they shouldn't. Alas... the Dubrovnik was born. And I feel it is "consistent" that 10 years later, in the film Schachnovelle (in German!) which used an Olympiad Dubrovnik and it has scenes of Nazism. So the film director perhaps felt the same way as I.

Dear 1bongocero. There are 13 cuts. Both in the white and black queen.
I'm a little confused in the commentary section of the other 4 minute video of this very same chess set, Mr. Jonas Žnidaršič asked you this very same question and you had answered that the queen's crown has 12 cuts. I'm having a set made and I wanted the design to be a copy just like the original in every detail possible. Does this set have 12 or 13 cuts in the queen's crown? At your convenience please check and clarify this detail for me, it would truly help me a great deal here. Thank you kindly...best regards...Jorge.
Dear Jorge, Please excuse me for answering just now. I saw your question only yesterday. Yes, the queens of Chess set that was used on the return Match Fischer x Kasparov indeed has 13 cuts on each queen.

Hi. It is believed that for the men: Maple. Natural and stained brown.The board, I'm in the dark. Maple & Walnut. Perhaps Maple & Chestnut. I don't think the dark squares on the board were colored. It's natural dark wood.
