Disappointing that COD went from a satire of war to pure glamorization. It didn’t happen overnight but it probably began with MW2, no coincidence that it’s also when the writing went stale as a whole. Side note from two months later: As atrocious as violence against women is, I think the red armies were male-washed in COD to deny the Communist Bloc’s relative progressiveness. The US army didn’t allow women to do everything that males could by 2010 when Black Ops released, to say nothing of how sexist they were in the Cold War. If COD accurately portrayed the red armies with women recruited and the US with only males on the frontline, non-misogynistic players would start to ask questions Uncle Sam doesn’t want to answer.

I think the MW2019 Russian parts are partly based on Chechnya where russia did kinda do some atrocities but the main thing it did in that war was use special forces & the secret service to basically cause the state to fail. It may also have a bit of influence from the Georgian border problems but in the end it still does misrepresent this whole thing. If they'd fully used a real world country & did a good deal more to keep it accurate it'd be fine but from what they basically made was What if Russia spearheaded the war in Iraq & America got involved to stop them like they did in Afghanistan. Which is a horrific misrepresentation of the historical events because Iraq was the single worst war my & the American government have done in recent history other than supporting the Israeli genocide of the Palestine.

Most COD games (except COD Mobile) have been made by Americans for American gamers first and foremost as tools of recruitment into the US Armed Forces, hence this Black Legend-ing of anybody not American and war freak.

I’ll tell you why Plot armor

Love the one where the character is full on hitting the AK and M4 in frustration at the jam. This feels more realistic in the heat of the moment. Sometimes, that training doesn't kick in right away.

You know, if they just disposed of all his weapons properly, particularly guns, he'd be damn near powerless; he'd run out of energy soon enough from fighting. I'm not saying this to rag on him, but this is a complete oversight.
