In this week's episode, we join good friends for a five-day adventure in Glacier National Park. With the Going-to-the-Sun Road closed due to weather conditions, we chose to embark on a boat tour along Lake McDonald. We also explored Apgar, a charming small town where we did some shopping, enjoyed lunch, and had ice cream. Following our visit to Glacier, we hurried to Missoula to collect our new Airstream from Bretz. Subsequently, we traveled to Butte for some dispersed camping at a Harvest Host location, which provided an opportunity to familiarize ourselves with our new trailer. Beautiful views while driving! Looks like a great campground by an amazing view! Yes. You need walkie talkies. That is what we use, and they work great. Some people use cell phones, but there is a delay, and sometimes a delay can be costly!! - Michelle

We visited Montana in May, and spent a month. We went up through western Utah, crossed over into Western Montana. Stayed in Dillon, Deer Lodge, Missoula, arrived at the Glacier west KOA on May 19. We spent a week at the Glacier KOA, rainy and LOVED IT. Many places in the area didn’t open until June 1 but we loved it. We hiked most days, with very few people in the national park. We are from Arizona and travel to Wyoming and Montana every year, love the Flathead area. We enjoy going to these areas in May and June before the crowds and while it is cool. Lots of game to see and people you meet are great. We’ve been to Apgar, great place.

We just left Custer State Park and we loved it! Saw so many wild animals. I tried to share the pictures of what we saw when we were about to go thru the eye of the needle but can't figure it out. A huge BUS was coming thru. AMAZING!
Omgosh! Thats awesome! It was a bit frighten for me, as we kept thinking someone on the other side will collide with us! So glad you too got to see what an amazing place this is! Most of these buildings have been added well after i was there years ago many ago. The heli. pad all that. I traveled the Black Hills both by big rig and car. Mt RRushmore and Crazy Horse monument plus Bear Country east of Rapid City. Twice.
I agreed! We were told that this Helicopter area is all NEW. Alot of new stuff. There is also a cute bagel shop with outdoor dining and park for kids that we loved going when in Keystone. Rapid City we went to shop for a new vent for our rig which was damaged at the wall a week before getting to the Blackhills and then had lunch. It was a great experience, and we hope to return. Very nice video. One question: when we upgraded to lithium in our Winnebago we were told by the battery and converter charger tech support that we also needed to install a DC to DC charger to prevent possible alternator damage. We did, and no issues. Did you have a similar experience Or was this the extent of your modification? Thank you
Thank you for the question. There are those who say you should install a DC to DC charger and those who say it's not necessary. This confused me as well so I checked with MB and Tiffin... both told me that it would not hurt to install but not necessary. I went a step further and researched to see how difficult it was to install. That was the deciding factor not to install. The difficulty and possibility of creating other issues was not worth it. We experienced NO issues with our alternator with our upgrade. Thank you for watching!!!

I just subbed! When we were first married,we took a trip out there.then life ,work kids happened.now retired, he doesn't want to go anywhere,but our son does! So soon as I get some money saved ,we are going back! I remember a small camping area that we stayed at.the elk came thru and 1 stopped and rested against a tent! It was awesome! Also the 4 president's and the Indian being carved only minutes away
Yay! Thank you for subbing! Yes, you must revisit the Black hills. Other times we visited South Dakota, we didn't come here to the Black hills, but now it has our hearts. We stood at the Coolidge State Park and did some dispersed camping, but we also stayed at Rafter J campground near Mount Rushmore! We did visit Mount Rushmore but couldn't post it due to rules and regulations on National Parks videoing. Soon we will be able to post without getting a fine. Thanks again for subbing!!
