Great 👍🏼
How is the table holding up? Thanks for sharing. Most of the concrete overlay tutorials are very old.🤔
It held up really well for the months I had it. I followed up with the new owner after about a year but she didn't respond. I've had and more heavily used tables made in a similar way that are near indestructible. The thing about concrete is it cracks. Eventually. So while I haven't had that be an issue for me, I have determined that it will one day happen and determined ways to reduce the chances of cracking being soon or noticeable. My videos on Assembly line furniture flipping parts 4 and 5 - ruclips.net/video/wRhUpvEw_qM/видео.html -both go into details about methods to reduce cracking or chipping risk. In all fairness to the process, though, I'm incredibly confident based on my work that even in subpar conditions this method works as long as you have a stable surface and don't break every single rule and don't go against all guidance the manufacturer gives. Have you tried anything out in the way of concrete design? It's such a cool subject I feel easily lost in it for hours on end.
I'm intrigued by the process and the organic looking results even with cracks! I wanted to try it on a home I'm selling that has laminate countertops that don't really do my new white cabinets any justice. I thought concrete might be better than the countertop makeover kits that I looked into. Now I'm concerned that maybe not everyone would appreciate concrete for the reasons I do!🤔 It may be "safer" to use the countertop kit in this case and just explore and practice with concrete on a tabletop.😉
Well sanded with polyurethane coating looks so gorgeous, but you have a point. I’d like to try the marble like countertop kits on tabletops. Restoration Hardware’s newest furniture has terrazzo on sooooo many things, I think stone may be making a real comeback in furniture.
I appreciate your honest review. I have been looking for reviews for over two months. You make a lot of very good valid points. I don’t think I would be happy with it. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Sure thing! I had really hoped to like it. They still haven’t sent me everything needed to return it. It’s been right at a month since I requested to return it. So I’d say the return process is also not ideal
@@monkeybarr1 Lovesac isn’t for everyone. My wife and I have 2 sets of Lovesac sectionals. She had it it her “Lady Room, and I have it in my man cave. We’ve had our set for 7 years. We have reconfigured them many times and don’t have an issue. We have corded velvet and love the material it’s very comfortable.
@@adelineredesign I had gone into the store yesterday to try the new reclining chair, and I don't find the couch comfortable at all.
I’ve had my sactional got 7 years and have reconfigured them many times. Very comfortable. I’ve configured from chairs to couches to beds, No issues.
My strength may be why it’s pretty strenuous labor to me. If I wanted to reconfigure it less than monthly or was stronger it may be worth it. Also if I was a different height it may be comfortable for me to lay on. And if I’d gotten the end piece the cushions wouldn’t fall off. And if I wasn’t bothered that the back cushions are not the same length as the seat cushions I could like the way it looked if I removed the tags so they didn’t show through or if I’d gotten different covers. And if I didn’t do work that’s messy then cleaning it wouldn’t be a problem. Or if I got different covers maybe it wouldn’t be so hard to clean. I’m glad you haven’t had any issues. I think that’s true for a lot of people.
@ I understand stand that. My wife doesn’t reconfigure her set, and if she wants it done I’m the one doing it. Every product isn’t going to be perfect for everyone.
Thank you for the education and the tent wrestling match!! That was great lol 😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed the tent wrestling! That was a real challenge.
WHY DO PEOPLE SPEND SO MUCH ON SOFAS THATS CRAZY
For me it was the first time in life I could afford a new couch. Even though I chose not to keep it, that it was even something possible for me felt really great.
Now I can make those pillows I've always wanted. Thank you
You’re welcome! Let me know how they turn out! Thanks for commenting. It’s helpful for the channel.
LOL! I always end up working in my housecoat so I get that! Kind of hard on my housecoats 'though!
It’s definitely a pajama heavy episode. How many times I had the energy to get out of bed to work on furniture, but not enough energy to change out of pajamas with a little silly. It’s nice to love doing something so much and being able to. Thank you for interacting with the channel. It’s one of the best ways for it to grow.
Love your video. Great help on products. I don’t do furniture like you do. I use Annie Sloan products, have been for years. I barely sand and never prime. I did enjoy seeing you give new life to unpopular finishes with a more modern look. Beautiful results. Linda Beals.
One day I’m sure I’ll try Annie Sloan. The cost is hard for me to feel ok about. I absolutely see the appeal of saving prep time, though.
These night stands turned out amazing. Loved your video. I do a lot of paint washes, they do amazing things to raw wood. Linda Beals.
I thought I was going to price them so high I could keep them for myself but I haven’t even posted them for sale, so maybe I am keeping them for myself.
I use a razor blade to scrape stickers off.
@@christhompson3655 I’ve done that too. Usually it works pretty well. But the big ones that were on the nightstands with the QR codes from the hotel they came from were insanely sticky. Maybe on my next project I’ll compare using the razor blade versus goo gone versus heat gun and see how they fair against each other A battle of sticker removal methods may be fun
I love your dresses and your work Beautiful
Thank you! I had something of a uniform for working on furniture for a while before I decided to just wear whatever I want. Thrifted dresses are inexpensive and I’m already in the shops looking for furniture. I won’t be surprised if eventually I’m wearing formal gowns. I think how absurd it would seem would amuse me to no end.
Tape on the can . Open lid, tape across top on two sides making a V shape on the top. You'll have to run the tape down the can so don't cut it short or it can lift. Them pour away! Oh be sure the bottom of the V is not the metal rim. You want it to be the tape. It keeps the rim clean and won't run under the tape that way.
I’ve tried it a couple of times without luck, so I think I’m doing it wrong. But I know a way to find video tutorials :) Thank you!
Just found your channel. I'm liking it. I know it's a lot of work to flip let alone video &edit. Best tip in this was definitely the tape on spatula for bondo. Thx
Thanks so much! I really appreciate you finding my channel. The tape on Bondo really helps me. That product is great right up until you have to get it off of something. I’m enjoying learning video editing. I’m hopeful about figuring out how to do it more quickly.
Using a heat gun will heat up the sticker glue, and it will be removed easily.
I just bought one for $20 this morning. Thank you for the suggestion. Even though I had seen people use them and knew that one would help, I am REALLY resistant to purchasing more tools. For so many things, though, the cost is a lot less than I think it will be, and the benefit of how much time it can save me is really worth it. The heat gun is going to come in handy for my upcoming project, and I think having it would be worth the $20 for that alone. THANK YOU!
Just want to give you a helpful tip. Be more confident in what you are saying. You say um a lot. You video was good quality just gain a little more confidence in yourself. Love the nightstands they turned out beautiful
Thanks! In my public speaking group called Toastmasters, using the filler word “um” has remained my biggest weakness. The last video I made I did shorter audio clips for voice over to avoid the pause. Since that didn’t work so well, I just went back and edited out most of the times I used the filler word. I’ve never been in radio, so I’m not …um..sure …um…why um…I say “um” a LOT. I don’t have to worry about dead air. Thank you for your feedback! I’ve been making RUclips videos in a committed way for about two months now and there is a lot to learn. I’m enjoying learning videography, lighting, video editing and how to do voiceover work a lot more than I thought I would. Feedback is really helpful. Thanks for taking the time to offer some. I agree, and I appreciate it!
@ your very welcome. You’re pretty funny too. Love your videos that you have posted. Keep up the good work. I haven’t made a video yet because I’m afraid I would stutter lol.
@@Ontheflipside2021 awww… come on! Embrace the stutter. Please. Or… You could create a faceless channel to practice where nobody knows it’s you. Then maybe (hopefully) build up the courage to show yourself one day. If you’re in the US, there’s a Toastmasters chapter near you. And maybe outside of the US, too. It can help you gain the confidence. Or you could start without sound. Practice editing and shooting that way. Or you could use an AI voice that you write the script for. It’s like CPR, I think. Doing anything at all no matter how sloppy is better than doing nothing. Or not. It’s of course up to you. But I hate that it’s fear holding you back. Fear is a bully and coward. Standing up to it makes it wither near immediately. I hope you take a step toward the goal. Any step at all
i scrolled down to like halfway through and couldn't believe there were only 3 likes! great video with really useful tips. i'm excited to see what's next!
Thank you so much! I’ve JUST barely started on RUclips, so my audience is pretty small, but it’s helpful to hear the content is appreciated. I’ll grow from here. :)
Great video !
I appreciate you engaging with my new little channel. Glad it was helpful for you!
Great video !
I normally scuff sand the piece using 220 grit and then use a gel stain since it sits at the surface of the piece
That would normally be a better option than what I did. I'm glad you mentioned it. My big concern was having the top match the rest of the piece since all of the other surfaces were identical, so I don't think a gel stain would have worked as well in this case. It certainly would have been less time consuming.
@@adelineredesignI’ve had a similar set and the top wasn’t in great condition, I use gel stain( antique walnut on the entire piece, and seal it using Mohawk product) and it turned out great
I appreciate the work but maybe don't move the camera so quickly.
I AGREE. It’s disorienting. I just started learning a new editing software. I shouldn’t go double speed when panning. Thanks for the feedback!
You're so cool.
You immediately received a like after the “if you are familiar with the concept of a bag” comment 😂
