The KU Wind Ensemble performs A Mother of a Revolution! by Omar Thomas. According to Thomas, A Mother of a Revolution! is a celebration of the bravery of trans women - in particular, Marsha P. Johnson - and to honor the legacy of the Stonewall revolution.

i’m so lucky that i actually got to preform the first movement with Tom Davoren conducting yesterday, he was the clinician for kansas state district honors band
Played this for all-state and it’s wonderful
Great piece and a fine performance! Thanks for putting this project together...I'm looking forward to hearing my students play this piece with Mr. Popiel as a part of the All-State Concert Band in Washington state in February!
