Sixgun Sal
Добавлен 1 июл 2012
Hello all! Sixgun Sal here, hope you enjoy my videos. Growing up I always loved the music I heard on a lot of the video games I played. Plus listening to midi songs I found on the internet. Once discovered modular synths and especially the Pocket Operators I knew I wanted to start making music and start a YT channel. I hope you enjoy the ride as my channel slowly grows. Thank you for watching and hopefully subscribing.
You think you got this, yes yes

Where did you find the tonic machine?!
Pocket Operator has an Amazon listing.
What is this wizardry?!
@@ejayerik Lol modular synths if that's what your asking about. Also kudos on beating thyroid cancer way to fight.👍
Thank you! @@sixgunsal81

I don’t know what this is, but I dig it
❤❤❤ yessssss
Even if hardly anyone listens, keep making music. You got that spark in you!
Wow thanks! Comments like yours really keep me going.
Mr. Sal, I performed a Factory Reset on my Volca Sample 2 and lost all the Patterns and Samples. I tried to restore with The Librarian to no avail. Do I have any options for getting it back to normal? Thanks in advance.
@@zen-god I'm sorry that sucks. Honestly I've never messed with that side of the volca. Aside from just keep researching, I can't help you. Good luck I hope you get everything back.

What is your favorite pieces of gear?
@@LucasPonizhaylo Probably the Pocket operators but lately I've been enjoying the volca sample a lot. I recommend the PO's though. Especially if you're on a budget.
This is awesome, I feel like I’m playing a really crazy NES/Gameboy game

What Rubbish 🤬
Alles gute dir 😊👍
Thanks for the feedback. 😊
this is so cool!!!
How many thousands of $$ does that little gadget cost?

How long have you had Volca Samples? And would you recommend?
@@CamTheStudent I bought it used from Guitar Center and I've had it for maybe 8 months now. Honestly I like the POs better. Unless you want to go to an all volca setup. Otherwise for less money the POs have more features and are easier to work with.
You have a new sub!
@@GameVerse-c8m Thank you!
I need your help if you may, I have a £400 budget, I could either get a behringer Odyssey as a first synth, the Arturia CS-80v and a midi controller with something like 8 sliders for playing live or a Novation FlKey 37 to use with my Behringer Swing (I use FL studio.) what whould you recommend? (I want to make vangelis like music with a hint of Kraftwerk.)
@@Captainducksee I'll be honest what you see on most of my videos is basically all that I own. Also I run completely DAWless. I record into a zoom h1 that makes a sound file in case I want to upload it to a CD or SoundCloud which I haven't done yet. Then I record video with an iPad. I've never done anything live so I couldn't recommend anything. The best I can do is recommend Freebeat or Audioplz as far as YT channels for research. I'm sorry I couldn't help you more than that.
@@sixgunsal81 that’s fine!
Volca sample is so much fun 😀 nice beat 😊👍
Thanks! Yeah I have more "volca sample solo jams" that I plan on uploading. I'm thinking maybe today. The way you can song build with those is a lot of fun.
@@sixgunsal81 same as I...still have to cut my last jam session for upload. ... sample2 jam... 😊 after a long pause 😎

@@DJ-Lazy-Lodger Thanks! It was fun to make.
This feels like the opening to a really bad ass indie game.
@@DMgrue1996 I really dig NES music so that's my inspiration in lot of the music I put out.
How are you getting the pocket operators to read at the same time as the volcas? Or did you just manually sync them before you started?
Cool stuff btw!
@@DMgrue1996 Both the Po's and volcas can be synced together using the sync plugins. The PO you have to press the acc button then the bpm button to the correct sync mode. After that it stays synced all the time unless your battery goes dead. Honestly most all of the new modular synths have this. It's really easy once you get it the first time. Also thanks!
Dang you just taught me something new about my hardware. Thanks! Love what you're making. Subbed! Keep going!
@@DMgrue1996 Happy to help. Thanks for the sub! Comments like yours keep me going I greatly appreciate it.

I'm replying to the statement on you channel because don't know where else to do it. I think computer games and 80's synth bands I heard growing up must have planted the seed in my head. In Britain the equipment was so expensive I never gave a thought to trying to make music myself . 7 years ago after getting my first computer and broadband I discovered the drop in price and have spent the last 7 years buying and building credit so I could build my own littler system. I look forward to the day If I live that long when the true Lennon and McCartney of electronic music emerge as the means to make it is nome in the hands of the Masses. Keep up the good 6 gun. Love and Respect from Northern England.
@@DannyFiver-m9k That's really awesome. Hopefully you and I can achieve similar goals of retiring from our day jobs and make music for a living.
@@sixgunsal81 I was involved in a near Fatal crash on my motorbike when I was 23 and I'm 50 now and have not been able to work since. In the last few years my medication for epilepsy which was a result of Brin damage has stopped controlling my seizures . So I can't even have a bath let alone go kayaking and can't ride bicycles. So have thrown myself into music as it is safe for me. I have DJ'd for little sound systems and squat parties and I'm a drummer and my biggest gig was a festival. I'm pretty new to computers and the internet but know people who have been paid for there music.
Can I ask a question. Are you recording with your phone because I can't work out how to record and if this is what you're doing and it results in this decent quality then I will follow suit. Another great tune you have a new fan 6.
Awesome thanks! Actually I record with an iPad and a Zoom H1 recorder mic. The recorder is great because as it records it saves the audio on an sd card so you can reuse it in other places like you if you want to upload your recording to SoundCloud or as part of an album. Plus as you can tell the quality is excellent. Especially for the $100ish I paid for it. Well worth it.
This is a nice little tune 6 gun.
