WOW! This is absolutely fantabulous, one of the best renditions I know! and it's live! C*O'N*G*R*A*T*S!! I love every single mvt, especially the fugue but also Melodia, so very well structured and expressive! Not a single phrase seems to be superficial, everything is existential here - and it's highly intellectual music performed by an intellectual artist! Many thx for sharing! Well, sorry to disagree with all of the comments below but I think this is not a very good performance at all. First of all, it would help if he did not look so terribly bored throughout the entire piece. Secondly, there are quite a few moments when he is simply off-key (for example, 09:39 😞). Third, what's the rush? It is not a contest, nor does he need to catch a train (or does he?). I could go on but ok. In all honesty, it is a decent try and being from the Ukraine he deserves every help and sympathy of course. But for me, anyone from Heifetz to Menuhin, Perlman or Hilary Hahn and quite a few others do a much, much better job at this. Sorry mate!

I have always considered organ works to be Bach's greatest solo expression. But hearing this Chaconne partita no. 2 so interpreted I have to think again. Congratulations!

This is one of the most beautiful recorded performances of the Bach Chaconne I have heard. This violinist has perfectly balanced Baroque style as it is being revealed through the period performance movement with a modern command of the bow and concept of sound. I will watch this video again and again. Additionally, his playing motions are so balanced, efficient and effortless! This is a model interpretation! Thank you!
