Nice video! Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!

Oh my, when I said "try to get out of London when you can" you really took it to heart, didn't you? I don't blame you a bit because you may never have another such opportunity for cheap and easy travel again. Make the most of this experience and you will never be quite the same person ever again. I’m applying to vassar and was wondering what your least favorite thing about the school is?
I'm not sure if I have a least favorite thing if I'm being honest. I think Vassar is in its own bubble sometimes which can feel a little odd, but there's definitely ways to get off campus and go do things if you want. For example, we have a Saturday shuttle that takes us to the mall, the train station, the grocery store, etc. if you don't have a car. Overall, Vassar is a great school, I think everyone has different experiences and whether you enjoy it or not depends completely on you, your style, and what you're looking for

Be yourself, and schedule an interview! You'll learn a lot from alumni during the interview process, but come prepped with questions. Also, come visit campus if possible! It's gorgeous!

Hi Sophie - My daughter is starting at Vassar next month, and she's in Jewett on the 3rd floor. What about a fan? I keep hearing the rooms are very hot and stuffy. Thanks!
Yes! I would recommend bringing a fan for the beginning of the year. Lots of people have those box fans that they put in their windows, and my student fellow had a standing one. It really depends on what you personally want, but I would recommend bringing one. The only people that have air conditioners in Jewett are the ones that ask for them for medical reasons, and it does get hot in the summer months!
@@sophialswood Thank you so much! This was very helpful. One more question - do you know if the rooms in Jewett (3rd floor) have two closets? One for each person, or is it 1 shared closet? Also, are there 2 dressers? Just wondering what else there is for clothes storage.
@@1jwerner I wasn't on the third floor, I was on the fourth last year but every room comes with a desk, dresser, chair and bed for each person living in the room. As far as I am aware, each person also has a closet. All of my friends and I had our own closets last year in our doubles.

was your bed already so high up or did u set it up like that? I'm going to vassar this fall and sooo excited!
I had to request for it to be lofted. You can request it over the summer by contacting the office of residential life and it will be lofted when you get there. The only reason it won't be able to be lofted is if your bed is on the side of the fire alarm thing. They don't want the lights to hurt your eyes so they won't loft your bed if it's on the same side. That's what happened with my roommate's side. She couldn't loft her bed because it had the fire alarm/detector on her side of the room.

I lived in Jewett House! My room was smaller than most of the rooms there, just because my roommate and I had a custodial closet next to us, but most of my friend's rooms were twice the size of ours.

no, no it was definitely hard! so many breaks were taken haha, but i definitely think it got easier as the days went on. however, motivation was getting harder on days i just wanted to rest! 😂

Jackie Namala I think everyone has a different story of why they chose to attend the college, but for me it was really the vibe and the people. Of course the campus itself is beautiful, but the people here are so kind and welcoming. Everyone wants you to succeed and wants to help you to accomplish your goals. I haven’t met one mean person since I’ve been here. I also love the open curriculum and the freedom it gives you to explore your passions. I hope you enjoy your visit to Vassar!
