That's not a counter, that's an exchange
After throwing the jab “the expected” punch isn’t the hook, it’s the right hand. The hook is thrown after a jab very infrequently and that’s because after the jab you’re in position to thrown the right. The hook is less affective after the jab because of positioning. But, the hook is very effective and thrown much more often after the right. Again this is because of body positioning and balance.
He meant the right hook. Look at charlo was anticipating a hook from Canelo's right hand and not a left hook thats why charlo lifted his left hand up to block the right hook

While this is true it's really comes with rythym, timing and the combos. Basically figure out when/what/where they're likely to throw. For example, say your opponent likes to throw a straight as their second strike, block their first strike then depending on their rythym(1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4), throw in a slip counter cause they're likely to throw the straight. This is why some people change/break their rythym and throw different strikes to make it harder to read and easier to make decisions, plus there's distance management. This is why I love fighting with a passion, it's like chess

I watched this fight on PPV I do not think Haney won 1 round. I say Ryan beats every one in his one in his weight class
Haney didn’t win one round? I actually had Haney WINNING the fight 113-111. Garcia only fought hard in rounds 1, 7,10, and 11. The other rounds he turned his back, refused to let his hands go, ran from an inferior puncher, and used the “shoulder roll” when there was no reason to. Haney on the other hand consistently came forward, making the fight. If fighter A comes forward throwing punches and fighter B just defends with no counterpunching, then fighter A wins the round. And that happened in eight out of the 12 rounds in Haney’s favor. I am not a Haney fan at all and was glad to see him humbled but the truth is the truth. Even with Garcia’s cheating (came in overweight and using PED) he STILL couldn’t knock Haney out. Pathetic.
