I think there is a company in Australia thats sells rods and pistons but I'm using Wiseco Forged Pistons meant for a D17 Honda engine and Eagle Forged rods meant for a B16 Honda engine. Had to do some machining work to make it all fit though.

@@Isaac-vn1sv no forged rods and pistons etc. Apparently stock engines are for around 180kw before they let go

@@user-wo3ub7ve2j yes but you will have to run low boost 0.5bar or so and make sure you have a good tuner because stock compression ratio is high at 10:1. If you're using e85 then you can run higher boost but I've heard max hp stock rods can handle is around 180kw before they bend

@@user-wo3ub7ve2j no idea, I did it about 10 years ago and did alot of the stuff myself, if you're paying someone to do it will most likely be quite expensive because you can't get many bolt on parts so all the stuff has to be custom made

Its a M5BF1 gearbox from a 2l Elantra

No its a G4EE engine, almost identical to the G4ED, only difference is its a 1.4l not a 1.6l

Haha it's a M5BF1 gearbox from a 2l Hyundai Elantra. Not too sure about the gear ratios but I think 4th and 5th gear are slightly longer otherwise very similar to the stock getz gear ratios. Ya its not bad on fuel just cruising out of boost but obviously full throttle isn't light at all😅

@@KevinDeanTaylor true I definitely thought it had to of had gear ratios changed lol Iv got one just for a cheap on fuel daily drive and Iv tried top speed in mine a heap of times & its basically screaming for its life at around 140kmph lol. I wouldn't mind chucking a turbo kit on mine just for a laugh & to drag some heavy v8's and give them a bit of a surprise that'd have me in laughing fits. Iv seen a couple making 250kw which would be enough to gap slot of stock v8's out there with the power to weight ratio since the getz's weight nothing lol

@@aaronaaron3003 haha ya I only swapped the gearbox because I broke 3rd gear on the stock box because its not as strong but could still hit 220km in 5th at 6500rpm. Haha ya its always fun having a sleeper

@@aaronaaron3003 haha no I've got sticky tires and car is lowered on coilovers so sticks to the road pretty well

Just done braided stainless lines and Yellowstuff EBC pads. Car came with discs on the back luckily. I'm not sure to be honest but also using 205/50/15 Toyo Proxes R888 which help alot with braking and handling

I had a double diaphragm, 6 puk button clutch made which is a bit overkill but didn't want to deal with a slipping clutch again. You can probably either do a double diaphragm pressure plate and a stock clutch disc or a button clutch disc and a stock pressure plate with maybe a few extra straps on for abit of extra clamping force. I'm not sure how much torque the stock boxes handle but I broke 3rd gear on mine at 440nm of torque but I was using a T28 turbo so peak torque came on quite early which didn't help. I changed to a M5BF1 with Redline Shockproof Heavy gear oil and haven't had a problem since. The M5BF2 is a stronger box but I couldn't find one.

I had the stock ones reground and changed to a solid lifter setup at the same time so used longer valves to make up difference from the regrind. You can get your stock ones reground and the hydraulic lifters will take up the "slack" but there will be a limit on how much lift and duration you can run. Otherwise your best bet it to get a custom cam machined

No broke 3rd on the stock gearbox, its a 2l Elantra M5BF1 box with Redline Shockproof Heavy gear oil. Hasn't given me any problems since the swap.

No I broke 3rd gear on the original box. Using a Hyundai Elantra gearbox from the 2l engine because its quite abit stronger. Guys are using them on 2l builds up to 500hp

Hi 6 moths later and here I am again 😂. I have got a 1.4 g4ee I just finished with al of the cosmetecs and rebuilt the motor with 20 th oversized big ends mains and pistons and would juat like to get some advise on the beat root to go what size turbo and what to look out for and be carful for juat want to boost at lik .5 bar at the most just as I drive her alot and juat want that bit extra for getting up to speed.

I was just using a Chinese T28 turbo here. Paid R4500 for it brand new

To be honest its so much work and pretty expensive, you're better off just doing a 2l swap with a 2l elantra engine either G4GC or G4GF. It will bolt up to the stock getz gearbox and you will make about the same power as the 1.3 would on low boost (115kw+ or so)

No using a 2l elantra gearbox cause I broke 3rd gear in the stock box. The ratios are almost identical except 4th gear is abit longer and I'm revving to 7000rpm instead of 6500rpm
