First, thank you. Second, I don't have the original Fairy Fencer F or Refrain Cord on Steam. I mainly prefer buying my games on GOG, hence the two separate how to videos on this game. I only bought the Steam version of Advent Dark Force because I hear some people were having concerns about getting the Steam version working on the Steam Deck. Thankfully, I got it when it was on sale. I know that probably doesn't help you very much. Again, thank you for checking out this video.

In my testing for this game, system Wine does work for AMD. Since I don't have a NVidia card anymore, I don't know how well the DXVK_ASYNC variable will work with system Wine on a NVidia card.

I prefer using a gamepad over mouse and keyboard, and the original version of Doom 3 doesn't natively support gamepads, unless I'm mistaken. I do know about the source ports, but at the time, I didn't feel like getting that working.

I may try out the source port version of Doom 3 at some point. It likely won't be for a while though.

First off, thank you for checking out my video. And second, I'm pretty sure there are other people that focus on gaming on Linux. I get that was a joke, but I mainly prefer using a gamepad over a keyboard and mouse for most of my games. For the most part, I'm using this channel to mostly demo various games on Linux. I'm currently working on a tutorial video for Neptunia U.

Unfortunately, I don't have a Steam Deck, so I won't be able to test that.

@@Coates0087 well it is a linux machine, so id guess it should, i own the game in steam so could it work from steam in linux?

@@micsmoa I think it's less of the OS and more of the Deck (and the Steam version) that I'm not familiar with. Later this week, I'll try adding my copy as a "non-Steam" game to Steam to verify if this trick works with Steam. I'll also try this for Fairy Fencer F.

@micsmoa Sure. I should have Steam specific video for both Fairy Fencer F ADF and Dragon Star up by this weekend. In the future, I'll try to be more explicit about me using the GOG version for the games that I test. EDIT: While it will take me a little while to make the video on playing this game on Steam, I can at least shed some light on getting the Steam version working. In my very brief testing, I was able to get the game working going the Compatibility tab for the game on Steam, click on the checkbox that says, "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool", and select "Proton-6.5-GE-2" as the "compatibility layer". You'll have to "Proton-6.5-GE-2" from the Proton GE Custom github page. It may be a good idea to back up that compatibility layer.

It is an older video. It took me a while to get around to editing it. I'm now using Fedora Linux as my main distro.

I didn't do anything special. Since the game is drm-free on Steam, I just copied the No More Heroes 3 install folder into a different directory and added it to Lutris. After that, everything just worked. I'm sorry that you were having problems with the game.
