What is an Anglican?
Просмотров 99 тыс.5 лет назад
I often get asked what the word "Anglican" means or "what is an Anglican." Anglicans are first and foremost Christians. We follow Jesus in the Anglican way which includes elements of the evangelical, catholic, and charismatic traditions. Anglicanism isn't the only way to follow Jesus, but it is a reliable way of being a Mere Christian. Good Samaritan Anglican Church: www.goodsamaritananglican.o...

How is a Person like a Paint Bucket? | Sermon-in-Brief
Jesus and His apostles tell us how to be saved by providing specific commandments for salvation in the New Testament Scriptures. They are presented here with example Scripture references. Once we become Christians by obeying Jesus’ commandments for salvation below, we should practice our faith by doing good works. Though good works alone do not save, we practice them BECAUSE we are Christians. “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also” (James 2:26 KJV). --HEAR THE GOSPEL (First Corinthians 15:1-4) --BELIEVE THE GOSPEL (John 3:16) --REPENT OF YOUR SINS, FORMER RELIGIOUS WAYS, BELIEFS, AND PRACTICES (Acts 3:19) --CONFESS BEFORE MANKIND THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD (Matthew 10:32-33) --BE BAPTIZED FOR REMISSION OF SINS (Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-5; Galatians 3:27; First Peter 3:21). Note that we cannot be saved until we have remission of sins through baptism. --LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE BY OBEYING AND SERVING CHRIST (Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 2:10). Ephesians 2:8-9 states that we are saved by grace through faith, not works. This means that Jesus saves us through His grace as a gift to those who have faith enough in Him to obey His commandments. NOTE THAT JESUS’ COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT PERSONAL WORKS. Given that, denominations abuse Ephesians 2:8-9 in claiming “salvation by faith alone in Jesus.” In other words, just BELIEVE, accept/receive/trust Jesus into your heart, say a sinner’s prayer, and you’re supposedly saved. But Jesus says, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15 KJV), just like those above. “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you” (John 15:14 KJV). “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (Luke 6:46 KJV). THEREFORE, IF YOU TRULY HAVE FAITH IN JESUS AND YOU REALLY WANT TO BE SAVED, THEN DO WHAT JESUS TELLS YOU TO DO. IT’S. JUST. THAT. SIMPLE.
I was raised Catholic, became a Baptist, ordained Reformed, pastored in 4 different denominations and now a member of an ACNA. To quote the Grateful Dead, "what a long strange trip it's been!" Good explanation!
I guess the better question is who isn't Anglican lol
@krissyyoung9264 Wrong regarding the true Church a Church that is not founded on Jesus through the Apostles who Jesus established inspired and instructed, is a fake Church, they are Counterfeit Christians, a contradiction to Christianity.
What is a Christian? One who believes the gospel of Christ: that Christ Jesus is God the Son, Who’s shed blood and death on the cross obtained forgiveness of all sin and gave everlasting life to all that BELIEVE that this is the Truth. And that He rose on the third day, justifying all that believe on Him and His FINISHED redemptive work. There is nothing we can do, except BELIEVE on Christ Jesus, to be redeemed to God and saved eternally. Salvation must be received as a free gift of God’s grace through BELIEVING, ALONE, what Christ Jesus, ALONE, accomplished for us. ALL who believe the gospel of Christ are members of Christ’s Body~ the Church.
Hey everyone! I have a historical question which i am really curious about. Is It true that throughout history the Anglicans and Easter Orthodox Christian have always got along perfectly? As far as I could study the king of England and the Church of England granted to the Eastern Orthodox Greeks of London a Church in 1670 (some decade before a street "greek street") And during King Henry the VIII reign many greek orthodox mercenaries were invited to fill the ranks of the Kings armed forces. I never found any document talking about problems or persecution against the Eastern Orthodox Christians of England (while instead there are many documents talking about persecution agains the Catholics and Puritans). Can you confirm it guys?
Fr pls tell us the difference between High anglican and Low Anglican and also tell us the historical back grund of high Anglican
They're like second pagan church after Protestants. Supporting female priests and same sex marriages.
Anglicanism is the best synthetic blend
Why aim to be a mere christian? Catholics are called to be saints!
Not marrying as a priest is only apart of the catholic tradition unlike all other orthodoxy. The Catholics broke off from the rest of the churches by putting their pope ahead of all churches more than 1000 years after Peter’s passing. Funny how all of a sudden they needed all the power
Part of the Canadian Anglican communion. I feel our service is beautiful and meaningful. And our long history. One day I went with a friend to her Baptist church, it was invite a friend day so I went, curious. I found their service vastly different, and felt a bit lost.
Anglicans were never a blend of the three christianities this is recent because of the infiltration of the Protestant church, Mary who appeared at Bayside New York in 1970 for two and a half decades said the separated brethren which are Orthodox and Protestant, if they want to come back they need to accept the truth that they protested against otherwise this whole thing is phony as revealed to the church there is a right place a right time and write persons involved it has to be under the influence of the holy Spirit and that could come during the Great revival.. and Mary also said no one can call themselves Catholic unless they are under the pope.. and Christ is king...
An Anglican is many things!
as someone who has never been to church im leaning into anglicanism as i find catholic a bit much for me but im open to ideas, im looking for opinions on what people think works the best
Thank you so much Fr! Out of all internet land you answered all my questions! The Lord Jesus is certainly alive in the Anglican faith. I'll be going to an Anglican service this Sunday. I now have a better understanding when I walk in. (I'm a Roman Catholic church hopping as the Holy Spirit is guiding my way). 🕊 Thanks again Father! 😄 ✝️

I feel as an Anglican we are more Catholic than anything else. When I go to a Catholic Mass I feel very much at home, as the liturgy is much the same. When I’ve gone to a Baptist service I was kinda at a loss to know what to do.

Very well taught thank you

Thank you for such great inspiration
a wet wimp who will soon be extinct.
THANK YOU!! This is a great explanation. As a Christian of 50+ years, in Baptist, Charismatic, Vineyard and non-denominational churches, I have happily settled in the local Anglican church. I love the connection with the church historic, learning about the early saints, singing hymns as well as simpler worship songs, joining together in saying the creeds, emphasis on Christ in the Eucharist, and the rich readings from the Word each week, as well as in Morning Prayer. What a wonderful place to be!
Not a heretic (that's good) But follows a heresy (and that's bad). What does "swells from" mean anyway?
The Church is not a grouping or gathering of denominations, there is only ONE Church founded by Christ, the Catholic Church. I will however agree that the Church is a gathering of Validly Baptized Christians.
Anglican means Church Of England to me,the church that was established by Henry VIII. The KJV church, the Reformation. There are a few Anglican churches that I can get to by CTA,but all but one are too far;it would take 2 trains or buses to get to two of them, and the one nearest is too liberal. I'd love to go to a more traditional Anglican church one day.
Christians who believe in a rapist and a liar?
The question What is an Anglican??? Answer; A despicable duplicitous Grifter, with no Christian principles, what so ever.
Thank you so much for this wisdom greater understanding in Anglican faith.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤❤❤

As a Catholic, I see the Anglicans as my young brothers and sisters in Christ!

Love it. Was baptized catholic but I really love the spirit lead approach in Anglican churches
The spirit of adultery as it's foundation?
An Anglican and / or any other protestant denomination of which Anglicanism is a part of is anti-Christian because Anglicanism and all of protestantism denies Jesus Authority.
Anglicans you have a new race of supreme angels called the Angelicans is all the lost souls of all specially children who have been freed from the dark entities in hell that feed from the energy of innocent souls, those innocent souls are now been saved world wide and empowered to Supreme beings created transformed by God who is Jesus nothing to do with the false Gods of the old testament they are all trapped and a sleep while the souls of the innocent inherit the Universe as God's. Is the wish of the supreme God Elohim Alejandro D Carlo the anointed Child,
i want to be anglican how can i meet them in ethiopia

Anglican is a Catholic Church that continues to reform and restore the apostolic faith to reach the English speaking world.
Thank you. As a Presbyterian I can say that its always good to learn from other branches of Christ's church.
This is the beauty of Catholicism because it began with, by, and from, the Apostles who were inspired and instructed by Jesus Christ. So what the Catholic church knows is what the Apostles knew, so therefore, what it knows comes from the Apostles. If one were to combine all the knowledge of protestantism, it would not even scratch the surface of knowledge or equate to that of Catholicism because Catholicism is God inspired since it began with, by, and from, the Apostles. Anglicanism and, therefore, all of protestantism is man inspired, and therefore always a contradiction to Christianity. IT IS A FACT.
@@peterxuereb9884 I agree ❤. I am converted from islam to catholic faith.. waiting to be baptised
@BahaFnaiech Welcome BahaFnaiech God bless you for witnessing to the truth as the Apostles were taught and as they passed on that teaching which became the Catholic church that began with, by, and from, the Apostles inspired and instructed by Jesus Christ. No other faith can say that because only the Catholic Church is the Christian and no other. Everything else is a lie. God Bless.
@@peterxuereb9884 Amen. Also Orthodox churches are almost same as catholic.. but catholic church is one in all the world. Protestants started after many years of the Apostles!
@BahaFnaiech Going by God's Book "Almost is not good enough, in saying that orthodox is protestant but more subtle, less obvious, in its contradictions.
You nailed it
Having a one-time been an Anglican priest I find that very little of those things are found in the continuing Anglican Church here in America. They want to be more alone with minds of the Catholic or should I say Roman Catholic faith then they've do the Evangelical. In my experience be continuing Anglican Church here in America is wanting to stay firmly in the past. And not take a step into the future
Thank You!
Wow, thank you
Why there is no video more?
Do Anglican Church believe purgatory?
Anglicanism is a spectrum, some are literally just Catholics with no Pope. And other anglicans are just presbyterians with bishops
