Lugger Falcons in Falconry: The art of hooding
Просмотров 9 тыс.3 года назад
Lugger Falcons have always been regarded by many falconers as sub standard compared to other falcons, such as the Peregrine. As a result their mass decline accross their entire wild range of the Indian subcontinent, has gone almost unnoticed by the falconry community. One of the Projects aims, is to raise the profile of the Lugger Falcon and engage more falconers with the conservation of the sp...

Very nicely done
hey Bob i am a falconer from pakistan and i want to breed luggar falcons can you give any advice how can i begin ! ? please help
I am also interested
👍🏻👍🏻
Your a remarkable man
Thank you, well presented. With difficult birds, I also do the 'dip'. I will slightly drop myself down a few inches as I am placing the hood on the bird. They will move their head up and it helps the hood placement over the head.

A wonderful project to help these beautiful birds. I was involved with a group set up to research the decline in wild Gouldian Finch numbers here in Australia. The founders of the Save the Gouldian Finch declared that as aviculturists enjoyed the bird in captivity, it was their role to help the wild ones as well. After several years of fundraising by the capable team at STGF and years of research, the reasons for the decline were discovered and a plan put in place to remedy the decline. Now the bird's future is improved and numbers are increasing. It appears to be a similar story with the Lugger and hopefully falconers worldwide will chip in to help your project to save these falcons..
Good job at explaing these pieces of falconry equipment. Often not taught as well by some today.
Thank You for posting this video. Helpful to many who struggle with hooding raptors. Showing ill fitting hoods and pointing out the proper fit is so important and most often falconers are not learning this today. Your tips on hooding also very helpful. I am most interested in the blocked anglo-indian hood you're using and would like to know where I can purchase that hood. Can you provide a link to the hood maker please.
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
