They were sooo beautiful, elegant, technological and confortable, like a little limousine... These cars will never come back again anymore...

Back when they actually made cars in America worth owning. My dad’s cousin had one just like this one, I loved riding in it. It was so smooth and comfortable, like riding on a cloud. My mother was superstitious and a scaredy-cat who believed objects that talked were possessed and would completely freak out over it. Someone got my sister a chatty Kathy doll when she was a baby and my mother immediately threw it into the fireplace ( can’t blame her on that one though because those things were positively evil and creepy just to look at). So naturally they decided not to tell her it talked and prank her with it at a family get together where he was showing off his fancy new car. When she leaned in to look at the interior he of course pushed the button 😂. Complete and utter chaos erupted, she sounded like a damned air raid siren, her sister who was worse got the vapors as they used to say and passed out, mom ran into the house, screaming, praying and begging everyone to get away from that Devil’s chariot convinced it would take our souls if we didn’t! Meanwhile the sane people in my family were rolling around on the ground laughing, further convincing her it was taking our souls😂. It did however give me the perfect forever weapon to use against my mother. Whenever she pissed me off I would roll my eyes back in my head act like a zombie and start stalking her while doing the “car” voice 🤣🤪. Yeah I was an awful child sometimes and an incurable prankster even if I was a little mean about it sometimes and went too far, I admit it, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to entertain yourself and protect your own sanity from the insanity around you!

Not really that modern.. it’s basic stuff. The interior on any of these cars in this era is so outdated and ugly..

Modern car manufacturers are going in the wrong direction...doing what Chrysler did here(with modern safety updates added) is the direction they should be going. Imho.

The first car I ever owned outright. I've owned 4 and all had velour interior. I prefer it to leather, but cars back then were just classier and more comfortable. I will say, though, the 3.3L V6 was a much better engine than the 2.2 Turbo. My 85 2.2 was awful and barely ran. No luxury car should have a turbo engine. Chrysler should have stuck with the 3.3 and made a V8 like Cadillac had. That's my only criticism. Otherwise, I prefer the New Yorker/5th Avenue to the Cadillacs.

My God i love your car! Those seats! My first car was a 83 Dodge 600, same size and shape as your car. I loved it - perfect size and button tufted seats. It drove so nice. When im rezdy to retire my late model Cadillac, im going to look for one of these New Yorkers.

Why don't they make em like this anymore? Such a shame these went out of style. SO much better than all the plastic uncomfortable trash we have today. And people have the nerves to mock 80s and 90s cars, when they were more comfortable and better looking back then.

Does anyone else think “how can they consider this a luxury car when it’s nowhere hear the size of a Lincoln, Cadillac or even imperial?” Terribly underpowered and just not the big floaty ride of caddy or Lincoln

Seeing interiors like this makes me genuinely depressed that cars aren’t built to be that comfortable anymore any new interior is so bland and everything is hard no cushy couch seats or cool colors

Beautiful car all around. My Dad had an '88. How about those plush seats! How did America allow the elimination of sharp cars with accents in favor of freak'n pick-up trucks which don't haul anything?

Up grade the turbo system and you have a nice little runner for to day's streets you don't need 400 or 500 horses in that just a little extra boost to move her a little bit faster

It’s hard to believe cars were really like this at one point. We have gotten used to driving such crap cars today. They are nothing but throwaway tin cans that we drive. I love the old cars soo much

Car looked good except the k car tail light section...that looked like a k car Plymouth or Dodge. It could do w/o the opera lamps. Don't put the 2.2 turbo in it. Turbine whine in this car ? Use the small v6. Get rid of hood vents. Steering wheel could be more fancy for this kind of car. Looks like Plymouth steering wheel.
