It's beautiful and tranquilt!😇 Add more different plants in the water; perhaps lotus, lilies, edible watercrest. Decomposed plants is fish food. Live plants purify the water. Plants shade from the sun, reduce algea, attracts wildlife like butterfly, dragon fly and create fish habitat! Keep up the good work! 👍 Thank you for sharing! 🙏

Do you have trouble w/ snakes? We have a large 1+ acre pond w/ a natural fresh water spring but slow moving. My grandparents had catfish in it but now (40+ yrs) it’s just bass & whatever it’s slowly caving in from 2 sides & the damn on 1 side needs fixing. It’s filling in & much more shallow. They drained it twice but that was like 30 yrs ago. Question…..we are going to drain & dredge it & fix the damn where trees have grown full size & some died the roots leaving holes. Looking at $12,000. or so to have it done & wondering if we could do this for not too much more. I have the plants natural there as well as water plants from another smaller front pond that used to have perch but now who knows.?Mostly snakes & frogs.
@@sheilahenry7279 hi there. I’m an absolute DIYer. If you’re willing to put in the elbow grease I promise you you can do it for a whole lot less than $12,000. It sounds like you have an existing pond that is fine it just needs a little work on the dam which is fairly simple work to do. As for the dredging there will be a little bit more of a challenge. But you may need to do is block off the incoming spring and routed out from the pond and then drain your pond down to the bottom to allow you to excavate it exactly the way you want. Then refill in stock add your plants and you’ll have a beautiful pond!
@@powercube2156do you think I can accomplish this same look with sodium bentonite clay pond liner, garden soil on top of that, pond or pool sand on top of that with oxygenating plants (thrasher than a pump or fikter) planted in about 80% of that and then some plant eating fish some algae eating fish some insect eating fish and some fresh water mussels (rather than a pump or filter) and snails to filter the water?

How can u keep the water clean
Could provide an estimate if your monthly maintenance costs? How much electricity does it take to run the pumps?

Fantastic pond! But a question: How do you stop water fowls from fishing in your pond?
By using your pond and your fish as hunter bait and then hunting and eating the birds that inevitably try. Same thing with gardens and deer. 😂

So clear! How much have you spent on equipment maintenance? I know these are more expensive to do than normal pools, but I’d like to imagine the maintenance over time is a cost savings!

@@jsmith8646 you don't have to have a plastic liner to have water still in your pond.
@ Mate if they are calling it a pond the inference is man made so it will have a liner of some sort. Otherwise you would just call it a dam.
