Marilì is a guitarist, songwriter and writer. Her first album is a music-literary work, with the title of "Ao Miraduro da Nossa Terra." Each song is linked to a story from the book "Porto Palazzo. Storie di partenze e arrivi," published by Edizioni Sui Generis in 2019. Marilì manages to interweave narrative and music to tell the social richness and injustices of our world. In 2021, she released four songs ("Wise soul," "Let the sky breathe," "Words of peace," "Gulu City") impregnated of urban afrobeat sounds, made in collaboration with Ugandan artists.
In 2022, Marilì founded the afrofolk group Marilì Mbolo Sound: an explosive concentrate of Afro, jazz and samba sounds. Their songs are a continuous work of musical research, contaminated by African, Caribbean, and Italian popular song suggestions, reflecting the group's varied origins (Senegal, Martinique, Italy). The group's intent is to create music without borders, promoting multiculturalism and the value of diversity.
