The economic model is quite relevant to the new vision introduced by Klaus Schwab almost 50 years ago, is exact from 2019 is exactly what this Harvard is citing its motivation a refreshment of the Davos Manifesto in 2020: all its stakeholders in shared and sustained value creation Value is defined in a very special way. not material, commodity, value money wealth, this abstruse notion of value or wealth that includes leisure time, relationship quality, beauty of nature and all other kind of abstract that come in under well-being economies and ecological accounting (you own nothing but you are happy) The Corruption of Stakeholder Capitalism.

How are you going to measure "all other kind of abstract that come in under well-being economies and ecological accounting (you own nothing but you are happy) ". It is an 'abstract' so how are you going to measure it ? A person with a drug habit lying on park bench is happy in their own mind despite being in a drug induced stupor so what you effectively say is they fit the criteria of 'abstract.'

I used to like this guy's stuff very much until I realized that there is nothing profound or even helpful in any way in what he says. Pretty much every video on his channel has a condescending tone and builds his points in a very childish way and generalizes every argument without any proof to sustain his own capitalist conservative views of the world. There's nothing groundbreaking in his work and it shouldn't be taken as advice. In my view, he's the Elon Musk of philosophy and psychology. A scam. My advice is to unsubscribe from The School Of Life and go to therapy. I guess I should say that in a rich British man's voice for it to be valid. Well, I can't. His business relies on the fact that most people don't have the time or money to really work on themselves and I think that is a gross case of exploitation to the point where it almost feels like a cult. His glorification of capitalism in this speech is truly sickening. I don't know why anyone would speak in such a fashion about the biggest cancer of human society. It is elitist and extremely insensitive towards the huge majority of the world's population.

How is capitalism good for the poor? It seemed he jumped right to that conclusion. Capitalism is great for the rich and those well off, but seriously, an essential aspect of capitalism is the highest yield for the lowest cost, i.e., low wages. Unchecked grow, which forces the cost of basic needs above the reach of lower income people...just to name a few of its problems.

Most companies deliver physical goods, which by nature target the base needs. The higher levels are more abstract. Yes, they manifest as singers, poets, religious/thought leaders, but also as clubs and organizations based on shared interests. They have market products, too (CDs, books, shows, memberships). Of course, even the higher level of community that is offered online (or over the air as shows) has to be resourced with ads for products targeting lower needs (primarily, but higher level needs like vacations and insurance are included). I wasn't 100% in line with the explanation that having a luxury goods economy helps the poor by generating money that can be donated. In my view, it also creates a larger labour market, which reduces the proportion of unemployed. We will never eliminate "poorness", but we can mitigate it.

“There is no shortage of good days. It is good lives that are hard to come by. A life of good days lived in the senses is not enough. The life of sensation is the life of greed; it requires more and more. The life of the spirit requires less and less; time is ample and its passage sweet. Who would call a day spent reading a good day? But a life spent reading - that is a good life. A day that closely resembles every other day of the past ten or twenty years does not suggest itself as a good one. But who would not call Pasteur’s life a good one, or Thomas Mann’s?” Annie Dillard "A Writing Life"

I agreed with all he said until he mentioned Facebook. He's right in so far that Facebook did have a chance of staying on the top of that pillar but unfortunately they've sunk now to the bottom because they've chosen greed and the accumulation of wealth to their actual good intentions of bringing people together. They have sold themselves out. They have prioritized money regardless where it's coming from.

ummm I heard him say capitalism is just getting going and in 400 years it might be catering to our higher needs in order for it to really succeed? Well the real truth may be that as Derek Jensen says we might have FOUR years left before we all drown or get burned alive or squeezed out from the same... with nothing to start over with...due to the excesses of climate change which is a direct result of capitalism. But I forgot. De Bottom is a monetized you tube liar and people are also dying on human junkheaps from the excesses of capitalism and dying in the streets and private homes from the excesses of loneliness. SHAME on him. He's funny and quick and rich and WRONG. Talk to me someone. I need a friend.
