Okay, this is so underrated.

Overall the rhymes are very good, I like your articulation though in parts like “the news” I feel like it sounds a bit clunky, overall I think it would make a good song, maybe less clunky lyrics or more insight into what could be added if that makes sense, I’m not saying this to try and say it’s bad because I do like the sound of this beat and lyrics but I am saying how personally I think it could be better. So for example off what I am talking about, “watching friends getting drunk and they don’t have a clue--that bottle is then bottled up--I was you” It’s clear you wanted to rhyme clue and the syllables in “they don’t have a clue” and “I was you” sound a bit too diffrent. Instead something like “my friends getting drunk and they don’t have a clue--the bottle they sip has their mind seizin’ up--in this state of mine they live in blues--the reason I’m living is cuz of luck- and your asking how I know? Man that’s cause I was you.” To me songs are like poetry, and in poetry a sort of explanation to a topic is needed, and this part of the song could have used more of this detail to drive home the point while making a more memorable verse. Though not to just be a downer I also wanna say what I like about the song, the lyrics with the kids and shooters was just the right speed and articulation that made it sound really nice, along with the background being a gentle sort of string instrument playing which matches your voice and make a what you are saying stand out opposed to the background, some songs paint in a black backround with black paint but you are painting with a white paint which sounds really nice. While I am not a lyricists and you are much better than me personally I feel like this may work better, though I’m not sure and I wanted to share my 2 cents on this song. Though I do enjoy this part a lot and how for a full song soon man, overall good work and I hope to see more of you.
