The Side of Cyprus Nobody Talks About (TRNC Documentary)
In May, @AbuFiniin and @noplaybookprod from the KOTC team ventured into the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus-a de facto state in the northern part of Cyprus, recognised only by Turkey.
Over three days, they immersed themselves in the culture, from intense football derbies (Yaşa Fenerbahçe!) to thrilling car rallies, and even secured an interview with the President. Our one-hour feature documentary captures it all.
The situation in Cyprus is both delicate and complex, but our aim was to hear directly from Turkish Cypriots (who are pro independence), unfiltered and raw. The Cyprus story isn’t black and white; it’s filled with nuance and shades of grey. Understanding multiple perspectives i...

This was the most weirdest 5 hours of my life I killed watching the whole episodes of those kids. But of course, interesting and raw, hopefully you will come up with some interesting and humorful contents. Best of luck.
It's quiet cuz during Eid majority people go to their homes in the countryside. Otherwise it's bustling 😂
gotta be the biggest fan bruv
Superb ! Loved watching this documentary as a family and have sent to all my family and friends to watch too ! It’s nice to see the other REAL side of the story being told ! Such a fun , energetic and well put together documentary! Great mix of fun ,culture and history!!!!! Will be keeping an eye out for more of your videos !thank you for telling the true story and not being shy to do so !!! Well done may Allah reward you with abundance and put blessings in all you do 👌🏼✈️
Hope u guys visit Bangladesh again & again see much more beautiful places like Cox bazar Beach, Saint Martin’s Island (only Coral island of Bangladesh) 3 Mountainous districts of Bandarban, Khagrachari, Rangamati, Sunderbans world’s largest Mangrove forest 🌳 North Bengal Rajshahi & Rangpur Division famous Archeological Sites from the past etc ❤
Looks great guys! Dont forget to get some viewpoints from women for well rounded series. Being male in these countries allows a degree of privilige that three women doing this might not get. Keep up the good work 🎉
😊since I can’t say anything nice ……….
It’s worth asking how many people in the TRNC are actual Turkish Cypriots, and how many are settlers from Turkey? The systematic settlement policy, encouraged and supported by Turkey, has drastically changed the demographics of the region. This isn't just about "intervention" or "protection"-it's a calculated effort to replace the TC identity with one that aligns with Ankara's agenda. By flooding the north with settlers, Turkey ensures political dominance, turning the TRNC into a puppet state under its control. Also if they truly believe that the Greek Cypriot side is so bad, why do they continue to use Republic of Cyprus passports to travel freely within the EU and enjoy the benefits of being part of the European Union? Isn't it ironic to reject the Republic while relying on its privileges?
This is great. Please stay in your ancestral homelands. Suits you well. Thanks.
Came here from BBC news
As a turkish Cypriot I approve this
🥰🥰🥰🥰🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩
Why the Turks don't apply the same rules to the Kurdish minority inside Turkey? Cyprus was a Greek island for thousands of years until the Ottoman Turks invaded the island by massacring the local Christian population.

Great effort, appreciate it. Glad to know someone is interested in listening to the both sides of the conflict.
As the next president of somalia, i recognise The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus as an independent state and grant them an embassy in mogadishu. TRNC can also use our seat at the United Nations to reach out to the world. Long live turkiye, long live TCNC, long live Somalia

Its a BUFFER ZONE not a BORDER get your facts right & there is not presedent of the the Turkish occupied part of Northern Cyprus they have a puppet leader supported by Turkey the invader. Mr Tartar said the Republic of Cyprus dosent represent Turkish Cypriots NEWS FLASS all Turkish Cypriots have passports & identity cards provided from the republic of Cyprus
Wow I'm very impressed with this documentary. Thanks for telling the untold story. It's a well put together and edited production live long and proper my friend.
That is completely inaccurate the 'Turkish Cypriot people 'are settlers from the ottoman empire that 400years ago occupied the island and today they claim to be native with a systematic extermination of the only indigenous people of the island the Greek people
Cyprus is greek. Remember that trnc isnt a thing. It doesnt exist. It is occupied area.
True
During 50s Greek Cypriots represented the 82%. However the Turkish Invasion in 1974 divided the island in two parts. The 18% with the military support of Turkey stolen the 36% of the Island
i was taken to that flag on the mountain to visit the huge hole my uncles corpse were found along with so many others of which i was given he’s full name and surname ! This is an amazing documentary! From the filming to the editing and storytelling, it very beautifully captured the TRNC. Thank you so much for telling the forgotten side to the history. My grandparents came to the UK in 1958 to escape violence and imminent death. Sadly their village was displaced to modern day Taşkent and a large majority were martyred. Seeing their story, like many others on the island, retold in this way is so important.

Amazing and informative documentary 👏
We are Turkish speaking Cypriots, not "Turks living in Cyprus" as the puppet of Erdogan said. We have our own culture, language which isnt related to Turkey. The doc was good because it delves in to the history pre 74'. However you can visibly see wherever you go in the north the Turkey flag and as Cypriot it makes me feel ill, Turkish speaking Cypriots have been opprsssd by Turkey for the last 50 years. Out culture is dying out, our language is at risk, nationalism is killing us, all because they helped us, nothingis ever done for free.
What do you mean ? Nobody talks about... The north part of Cyprus is occupied by Turkey since 1974 50 years now The majority of all those are still our stolen lands and properties. Turkey, Invaded the island, kicked out the local population, been replaced them till on our days, mainly by Turks, settlers from its mainland Ignoring of all of the UN resolutions about peace and justice for the island. All this situations, is similar of what is still happening today against Ukraine. Actually here, We must thank the Russian foreign minister mr.Lavrov. From the very beginning of their illegal invasion against Ukraine, the man mentioned about the Cyprus issue, and how all those are, all those western countries hypocrites are still have their eyes, ears and Mouths completely shut about
@@ayseomer722 we saved your ass back in 74' and you hate us? Don't we have the same culture? Just a bit different. İf we didn't help you, you'd be cooked by the Greeks bro
Yes we shouldn’t have helped you
@@Κώστας-τ9μthe history does not start on the day Türkiye intervened on the island. Greek Cypriots have been massacring Turkish Cypriots for two years, with the aim of driving them out of the island. Türkiye intervened to protect its brethren using its legitimation as one of the 3 guarantee powers, Greek and England being the other two. You reap what you sow. And funny, I can’t recall the Greek Cypriot government to criticize Israel for illegally occupying Palestinian lands and de-owning its citizens. Apparently, you have no moral or principal issue with killing civilians, occupying and ethnically cleanse other’s lands. You just hate to be on the receiving side. Unfortunately, I have bad new for you. You are dealing with Türkiye. Either get your act together or you will continue to be on the receiving end. Inviting US and French to the island, in violation of the constitution and hoping they would help you to score a win against Türkiye is a pipe dream. There is a saying in Türkiye, you can’t fuck with somebody else’s dick.
The invaded by Turkish army, north part of the republic of Cyprus, actually does not exist, literally. So whoever goes there, sould not consider that he went to Cyprus, or to a n eu, european country. Without the proper visa, therecis no way of entering, the republic of cyprusor the europe in general. Untill the turkish occupiers go back to their country, north Cyprus do not exist.

Tatar is a puppet of turkey !!
the bias in this video is insane
This could have been so much better. While I appreciate the sentiment - Turkish Cypriot perspectives on the Cyprus issue are often drowned out by louder actors - this misses the mark. You focus entirely on Turkish Cypriot positions that support the status quo or are supportive of a two state solution. There is absolutely zero mention of the fact that Turkish Cypriot interests and those of the Turkish state are not wholly aligned and the developments in the north since 1974 have been far from universally well-received among native Turks. At best, this comes across as a reflection of diasparoid sentiment rather than of Turkish Cypriots still living in Cyprus. After all, Ersin Tatar could not have been elected were it not for his greater popularity among those of mainland origin (the topic of mainland settlers is another issue which receives absolutely no attention). At worst, this comes across as something like Turkish state propaganda. I don't know whether this is wilful or a matter of ignorance but it would have been perfectly possible to represent these people's positions (Tatar and his ilk) while also acknowledging the reality that this position is, quite possibly, actually in the minority among Turkish Cypriots still in Cyprus. The interests of Turkish Cypriots and Turkey are far from perfectly aligned. In completely ignoring this, this documentary can't really be considered representative even of 'our' side - even when you consider that you didn't set out to provide a balanced perspective.
Video does state at the beginning it is biased towards the Turkish narrative of some people so I will not call it intended propaganda. However , that said people who do not really understand the complexities of the situation should not make such documentaries. Cyprus is for Cypriots whether Greek or Turkish speaking lets get that out the way for starters and I will come back to the identity bit later. You mention ENOSIS but not TAKSIM see ruclips.net/video/itqHxGSLJvs/видео.html esp 0:29 read the banner 8:35 Tatar was voted in by a very slim margin. What you fail to mention is that illegal settlers now vastly outnumber real Turkish Cypriots who have a vested interest in not being asked to leave the free stolen properties they now occupy. Knowing this and still he only just managed to get the votes. 14:30 The bloody Christmas incident . Yes horrendous but further investigation indicates it was likely to be propaganda to create even more divide amongst the people . SEE link greekcitytimes.com/2021/01/02/the-bathtub-massacre-in-cyprus/#:~:text=%E2%80%9COn%20the%20night%20of%20December,bathtub%20where%20they%20were%20hiding.%E2%80%9D is a Greek paper but written by Uzay Bulut is an exiled Turkish journalist 16: 00 Yes that incident was one of many like the bomb set off by TMT killing TC's who blamed the Greeks result was Turks massacred Greeks. see ruclips.net/video/T7ZJv2szxls/видео.html 2:43 I am not saying the Geeks were all innocent just that both sides were lied to which created the divide . 17:45 Yes expanding dramatically but for who's benefit? Ask a real TC if they have benefited one cent from this development on cheap Greek owned land. When I say owned I mean people have deeds of ownership. 20:18 yes invasion on 20-07-74 was legal under the guarantor powers ( due to a coup by Greek Dictatorship) but the second attack was not legal and simply a land grabbing operation. The Guarantor excuse could only be valid if occupation withdrew once legit government was restored which it was within a few days. 24:35 Obviously not heard of the fake degrees scandal 35:00 Easy one just ask Turkish Cypriot what they are most will just say Cypriot. Only if pressed will they say Turkish or Greek. If this guy seriously believes no Cypriot ID he is in cuckoo land. Maybe the passport almost all TC hold that states Republic of Cyprus Citizen might also be an indication. I believe he has one too maybe the free health service was too tempting. Most Turkish Cypriots accept their history and that most are Linobambaki that is a Greek Christian convert to avoid non Muslim taxes during Ottoman occupation. This truth is now actively being dismissed by propaganda but TC know their roots they do not need a history lesson. The only solution is a BiFederal Bicommunal Federation. No illegal settlers ( a war crime as described by Turkey itself by the way) except most of those that have married a Cypriot and their children ( The settler will have residency rights the children full citizenship but naturalisation will be possible) . No foreign armies or guarantor rights. Restricted access to the North for Greeks Cypriots at the start to help TC rebuild their economy and foster more trust. Equal rights for all. End of the day the real citizens want unification and an end to the divide. I found the comments by the British people annoying 48:15 the audacity they have bought cheap property built on someone Elsie's ancestral land and can't understand why people treat them negatively. Maybe he lives on the plot my father planned to build a home by the sea a plot handed down to him by his fathers father. To my knowledge no TC land has been built on only pre-existing properties used to house refugees.
