I am from new york and I would hang out in the summer at Aqueduct back in the day, and always admired how fit they are. They practically have no fat on their bodies fat just muscle. When they retire they usually are still fit. I would like to know how they do in retirement like a bio on the after all that racing.

I find it odd that the jockeys own their own saddles. Horses bodies are not all the same, so that would make them need many many different saddles. It would make sense to me that each horse would come with his or her own tack, to ensure a perfect fit.

That would be NBA players. You can be an over the hill third teamer making 8 million a year or so. Jockeys risk their lives, starve themselves, and only a small percentage make the Bailey money. Your top riders at your small tracks ride six or more mounts a day practically year round to make a decent living.

Jerry did well in his years...but the truth of the matter is that he wasn't really "respected" by other riders. He sat on a lot of good horses because his agent was connected. Good horses win big noticeable races and that begets more good horses winning more big races. Chris Antley or Angel Cordero could ride rings around Jerry...even if he was on the best horse. That's talented riding...not Jerry Baily. After all it's called horse racing, not jockey racing. You may be able to move a horse up a few lengths over another rider, but it's a stick they use in the race. Not a magic wand.

Are Jockeys a race of people who have been bred over centuries to be as close to dwarves as possible without actually being dwarves? Do they all live underground or in hollowed out trees? How much do you have to pay to buy a jockey on the black market? What do you feed them? Do they get angry when they are domesticated? Once you own one how do you set up your home to make it seem like their natural habitat? What is the best way to discipline them if they don't do as they are told? Once they get too old to ride can a veterinarian put them down (euthanasia) or do you take them out back like Old Yeller and put one right between their eyes? So many questions about these strange creatures. If you guys could answer a few it would be greatly appreciated.

Everybody knows about Micheal Jordan and Scottie Pippin, only nines like Jerry Bailey and Willie Shoemaker you may hear about, they are very talented though. Many like Jerry Bailey and Mike Smith make a lot of money. It’s one of my favorite sports, I don’t bet but I like to see the horses run, the trainers get a lot more respect and publicity, many of them are very rich and have other professions like lawyer, doctors, contractor, architect, engineer and etc, many top trainers only holds a trainers licenses, their assistants do all the work while they are out playing golf or overseeing their construction crew on a site, I know what I am saying as a fact,...
