Today I'm riding the Beech Mountain Bike Park as well as the Emerald Outback Trail System with Jack & Jonathan! Skied here a couple months back for my first time! Seeing you fly on the ice was so cool. Do you have any advice for being able to slow down/stop? I found that on the icy snow, doing the pizza was not nearly enough for me to not go at an uncontrollable speed. Thanks!
Thanks!! And while I’m certainly no expert, learning how to turn will help you learn better control/stopping skills! I’d watch videos online that go deeper into detail for proper technique!

I’m headed there Friday! Question: what’s the deal with Gnarnia? I imagine it’s GoPro effect but it looked tamer than Supernatural or even Rally Alley. Is it just super steep?
@@gregmccandlessmusic Gnarnia is extremely steep in person! I’d get off the bike and check out the main chute your first time down before riding! It is faster which may have made it look easier 🤷♂️ - hope you have a good time!
So I've heard that if you take the trail on the right side and get to a fire road, you can climb it in 20 min. Is that so? I want to get as many descends as possible.
I know that the fire road is private and they do not want bikes on it, I’d just climb the 2 way trails up, it only take about half an hour 🤷♂️

If beech had sugar’s lift, I’d be there every week dude. Not knocking sugar cause it’s absolutely rad but I think I enjoy beech more. But when I’ve only got a few hours to ride and want the most I go sugar every time!

I like how sugar is more natural. Beech needs to not worry so much about cutting grass and weed whacking and do some actual trail maintenance. The trail crew @ beech are basically lawn care specialists. All Mottos work from spring is getting hammered.
Yea… sugar definitely has a more natural feel. They are both great options though, lucky to have them so close by!

Thank you for taking me back down memory lane. I had so many great years of riding there with my son, until one day I left my right rotator cuff severed on the Western Territory. That was last last DH ride of my life. It was the best DH Mt of all time and I guess it still might be. It does a very high pucker factor!!! You are an excellent rider!!!!!!

Grate video! I love gin and juice. Probably my favorite trail there. How much harder is hooch? By that I mean do you have to work harder to clear the jumps?
Also you should try dark and stormy. It’s not my favorite trail, but it’s another kinda tech trail.
Thanks man! And gin & juice is a nice run! Hootch flows just as good if not better, the only stuff I have to yank for are the doubles towards the end! The jumps definitely ride different though being steeper and longer - just be careful of that

yo you got the riding skills to go far on yt, and I say this with no hate behind it but your gopro mount position makes the video harder to enjoy and sometimes not fun to watch. I assume you use a chest mount but maybe a chin mount could work better if you run a full face. besides that great vid :)
Thanks for the feedback! I have just broken ribs before landing on go pro mounts so I use the helmet mounts now haha!

If you're ever in the Richmond area you should check out pocahontas state park. Be prepared to encounter the most obnoxious oldhead xc riders on the planet though.

Pocahontas was one of my favorite trail systems I've ever ridden
I like Beatty. But the amount of trail walkers is the highest per capita of any other trail system I've ever ridden.
It is kinda nuts how many people there are, what you get for building a trail in a neighborhood haha! 😂
Now I want to go to App State
