Really enjoyed this and looking forward to more episodes in this series. Interested to see what moves the Mockingbirds make to improve.
Another tip I've learned courtesy of Foolish Bailey is to primary all of your best relievers as "stopper" and secondary them for their intended role, i.e. best reliever is secondary closer, second best is secondary setup, etc. Also, a great thing to look out for are lefties that have great platoon stuff splits and primary them as middle relief and secondary as specialist.
I’ve seen his stuff before but wasn’t familiar with how a stopper functions. What criteria has to be had for a stopper to be selected?
ok if your owner doesn't have any goals about retaining balance, a great tip for preseason setup is to put ALL of your extra money into development when you have players worth developing. If $6m or whatever you end up having to spend won't get you anyone good, build for the draft and reallocate the money into development.
Okay that makes sense. I wasn’t too sure of the impact of ending with a balance or not but I did increase the scouting budget to $25M I think. I didn’t change the development budget but I think it was already set at $25M. I’ll be sure to increase it in the upcoming offseason. Thanks for the tip!
