This is my degu channel, where I upload videos of my degus - current and past. I use the channel to take a trip down memory lane once in a while, and the videos are often uploaded in batch - several at the same time.
The very first two degus came from a pet store, all the others have been adopted from people who needed to or wanted to rehome them.
The degus in the videos (born and passed) in order of appearance: Felica (2008-2015), Isabel (2008-2014), Stella (2010-2014), Maya (2010-2012), Tia (2010-2015), Luica (2010-2017), Nita (2013-2022), Yazmin (2013-2020), Solana (2015-2021), Mama (2010-2018), Chiquita (2013-2019), Rosaline (2013-2019), Elisa (2016/2017-2023), Lola (2016/2017-2022), Mona (2020-), Inez (2020-), Grace (2020-), Selina (2021-), Joanna (2018-)

Video recorded April 26, 2023. I really wanted Elisa to have more friends so I introduced both Inez (agouti) and Mona (white-ish). I figured they could work it out, even though Mona was being a bit too much at her. After Mona bit Elisa's mouth trying to get to the snack she was eating, I didn't let them hang out again. That happened the day after this. Sadly, the bite turned into what we think ...

Video recorded December 28, 2023. I moved the cages next to each other (with some extra bars in between to prevent them putting their tails in between) to try and get Joanna used to the other degus. She still hates them and spends a lot of time staring at them.

Video recorded December 23, 2023. Grace was being a bit nervous so I moved her using the tube, but the others let me pick them up. In the order: Mona, Selina, Inez and last Grace in the tube.

Video recorded December 15, 2023. Grace heard me put food in the cage and now she's upset that she's not in the cage. At the start of the video Mona complains back at her. Grace = agouti with long tail Inez = agouti with short tail Mona = the most white one Selina = white and agouti

Ah just in case you weren't aware, your agouti degu is limping 😟 Something seems to be wrong with her left hind limb
:) thank you. This video was recorded in May 2023, so a bit over a year ago, and I took her to the vet 2 days after this to get her leg checked out. It was probably a sprain, the vet gave us some pain meds and it went away.
Oh that's not a proper cage for a degu:( she/he is trying to get out and that's why. they need a lot of space so they can run around
:) the cage is fine. I can't remember now the situation (this was 9 years ago), but at the time I recorded it she wasn't allowed out of the cage. She did get to come out daily, though.

Elisa was twice adopted - I got her from someone who rescued her from someone who was threatening to have her put to sleep, so we are not 100% sure how old she was. Around 6 or 7 I believe.
