Universal Power Shovel Corporation began manufacturing small and medium-sized excavators way back in the 1930's. The name was eventually changed to "Unit Crane and Shovel Corporation" or simply referred to as "Unit". Typically, there's the manufacturer's nameplate riveted on top of the clutch/brake cover, right side. It will tell you the model and year of manufacture. This one appears to be repainted: orange was the original color. Although they made the switch from cable to hydraulics, it appears that Unit closed it's doors by the 70's. With their Detroit diesel engines, they were always my favorite excavators.

i forgot to mention that the guys that started Scat Trak originally were employees of Bobcat that left the company to make a better simpler skid steer. These produce more axle torque than most machines of there class.

How to you take the radiator top off I’m trying to test and see if my gasket blow but the top seems like it’s stuck I loosen the top and try to take it off and it won’t come off

Old self propelled machine used for installing drain tile. The engine is missing. The large digging wheel forms the trench and is adjustable up and down to maintain the grade. The spoil falls out of the digger buckets onto the short conveyor near the top of the wheel. The conveyor then windrows the spoil along side the trench. The tile is fed through the tube shaped boot affair on the back side of the digger wheel.
