Where can I buy the adapters for the wires?
there's a video of using the same yellow trigger wires to get the "city lights" in headlight housing to work
I need to watch that video so I can get mine hooked up, thanks for the tip!
Link to other vid?

With the headlight switch "ON" and the ignition "OFF", are the headlights on or off?
Headlights are off when ignition is off, DRL's are on.
@@JCsVWGolfR Thanks for the reply. That's not the functionality I want, so I guess I'm just going to have to stick with turning the headlights ON and OFF manually every time I drive at night. Unless I go with the full auto headlight switch with light sensor. Cheers!
Will this be similar to install in the MK6 GTI?
Should be the same, except the coding may be different. I haven't been able to code mine yet but they still work.
This is a fsi for all you tsi Fanboys
Dos the interior light up at night automatic when light go on?
The mark 6 only has footwell lighting, which is adjustable.
@@JCsVWGolfR no i mean the dashboard and interior all button inside.
Yes, the dash lights up. I am not sure if I understand your question, though.
@@JCsVWGolfR thanks
@@THE-GAD the mk6 has a switch on the top of the ceiling(can’t remember what it’s called sorry) but right above the console where you can turn it on to automatic when the doors open, off when the doors open, and on when the doors are closed when all the doors are closed which will turn on every overhead interior light. I’m not sure about the sedans as I have a ,13 mk6 sportwagen which has that switch and it is very handy
Any coding required?
Yes, i get a notifications to check all the lights each time I start the car up. I haven't been able to track down the coding for this specific problem. I have the OBDeleven dongle.
Great video, feels like I'm in your driveway with you! Would love to see more videos on your R!
Thank you for watching, I am hoping to get more mods done as my finances allow.
Thank you for the DIY video. Really help me
Glad it helped, thanks for watching!
Looks like a nicely made piece! Was curious of the air intake temps vs the ECS’s intake without the carbon fiber box. Think the closed-in filter makes much of a difference?
I think there is probably a small difference as the box isolates the engine compartment from the intake, without the box there could be some hotter engine air making it over to the intake side around the barrier that is used to enclose the open filter. I also generally really like the aesthetic of the box and polished aluminum and it gave me the tidy look I was after. Thanks for watching!
Any gain in performance / torque?
The car feels much more responsive and sounds great! Thanks for watching!
How did you get the engine cover off?
You just give it a good tug, there are two points in the back where I attached the heat plate and two in the front where you can see the holes where the mounts were. The plugs in the cover are rubber so they just pull off. I think you start at the battery and work counterclockwise to pop each point off. Thanks for watching, I hope you get it sorted out!
@@JCsVWGolfR hey were you able to place the engine cover back on once the CAI was installed?
@@zactastic4lifeno, if I'm not mistaken the engine cover is the air intake so doing this mod also deletes the ugly ass engine cover.
Great video man. I thought it was a little more complicated then that. Im going to attack this myself. Looking forward the diverter valve install. Hope all is well with the situation we are all experiencing in the World. Stay safe. Great vid.
Hey thanks, man! It was pretty easy to do, especially with the right tools. I haven't had a lot of time for working on this car lately and hope to get back to it soon so I can make more videos. It is a lot of fun! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful piece of kit there, i want to have this but shipping to South East Asia is ridiculously expensive, almost the same price of the kit itself. Any issue with fuel trim?
This has been a great addition, along with the APR stage 1 it has made a big difference. The sounds is great, the pick up is even more improved, and the look is impressive. I like the contained box versus the filter just sitting in the engine bay sucking up hot air. Hopefully you can get this for your ride, the box it comes in is huge which is why the shipping is so expensive. The box is about 36 inches by 18 inches by 18 inches. I will take some more videos when I have time. Thanks for watching!
