Great Job Hon...Fellow creator giving support.

I started reading the Eragon books this year, because my 13yo loved them so much and wanted someone to chat with about them. But as much as I enjoy them, I struggle to keep going. I sort of rate books based on what I call, "the point of no return," which is the point in the book where I feel compelled to keep reading, even if it's way past my bedtime already. And if I manage to stop, I will be preoccupied with it until I can get back to it. The Eragon books have a very late point of no return (though they do at least have one). The Inheritance Games books, other than The Brothers Hawthorne, had really early ones. So I read this in about a day each, but these Eragon books take me weeks. My tactic has been to read a little Eragon (I'm actually in Brisingr), then read another book, then go back to Eragon so at least I won't get burnt out trying to slog through a book that I like, but can't seem to get into fully.

I read If He Had Been With Me last summer. I don't remember if it made me cry, even though it was sad. The main character spends most of the book with very muted emotions. And I don't know if it's because I'm a mom or what, but I struggled to identify with her. I spent most of the book very worried about her. That said, I have the sequel on hold at the library and will get to read it someday. I also recently applied on net galley for the sequel to Spellshop, which I read for a book group in November. I think that's the only book that I'm looking forward to, specifically. Though there are several authors that I'm sure will have new releases next year. I just haven't really looked, since my TBR shelf is like, a whole bookshelf and a couple bins.

I only have one shelf in one cupboard full of mugs and my family has cut me off. My kids will literally tell me no if I start looking at them in the store. But there are so many cute ones. It is so hard not to buy them all. I honestly feel like tea tastes better in a cute mug.

I would love to see a book collection video. I'm such a sucker for bookshelves. Half of the joy of going to a bookstore is just being around all the books on shelves.

The Naturals sounds so good. I'm going to have to add that series to my TBR. When we were at Target the other day, my 13yo spotted The Grandest Game. We didn't even realize it was going to be coming out so soon. But we bought it and now I'm supposed to pre-read it and let him know if there's kissing stuff. But it doesn't look like it has any Hawthorne POVs, so I'm hoping it'll bring us back to the kissing level of the first Inheritance Games. Fingers crossed. Other than that, I've spent the last few months failing 😢to make any progress on a Schole Sisters 5x5 challenge. I really would have thought that I'd be better at a reading challenge where I made up the categories and two of them are basically just trying to work on my TBR pile. Which is actually a TBR shelf and a couple bins.
