That's actually an insanely cool aesthetic as long as you don't need to show zero. If you DO have to show zero, adding a line on the left and making it 6-segment would be spot on.
This ie probably my favourite lower-than-7 segment display. My only nitpick is that the 0 can be a little hard to read but that can easily be fixed by making the upper part of segment d more curved. Other than that it’s perfect!
Technically speaking they are five segments, since those two in the E segment can only both be lighted on or off. Just cuz they're separated doesn't mean they're sepaRATE
nope! i thought the same at first but a single segment can be split as long as they light up together, that is what is happening here. plus, if you _really_ don’t think so, it still works w/o that middle segment.
LED? depends on how you manufacture the thing and at what size. When they used to make calculators and watches with little bubble style LED numeric displays, they had to be straight segment. Nowadays you can place much smaller LEDs if you have to and make a custom baffle/diffuser to make arbitrary shapes.
That little middle piece is only used in 4 so you could get used to not having it at all. Alternatively you could make that segment in a single piece and break the L-shaped segment into two instead. There are several ways you could connect the two parts of that segment with less disruption.

I like this idea except zero😅
I see your not posting
OPA SERIJÃO/ TUDO BEM?

This could totally have a use in displaying 3d coordinates, due to the PERFECT X, Y, and Z.
Nice pun! 😂😂
But the 2 will overlap the z
I’ve noticed that segment E is separated, which may pose a problem.
0:01 Displaying all letters with 6 segments is too hard
this is the best 5 segment display i ever seen, basically no compromise except 0 have a little compromise but it dont affect anything
Šëgmėñt đìšpłæŷ
Yes I like that
the one on e isnt neccesary
Letters missing: C, E, F, G, K, M, N, P, R, T, U, and W
because its impossible
@@Ruby-is-my-f4v0r1t3 actually C is possible, it just looks like a 77.5° angle

Parabéns Serjão kkkkk
I wanted to do that first
You can still do it

He made a 6 segment version, by adding a line on the right.

we need this as a font
amazing
nice video ... I tried to with 5 and 4 ...

I made one very similar to this one, and I failed from the same problem.
Better than the little o which serves as a 0
Best design I've seen so far
Agreed!
this one goes hard
Here is a new and proper four segment display ruclips.net/video/KG-EtxpS3NM/видео.html
2 is Z
and thats hella cool
0 got tired of being ⭕ he now transformed to 🔺

This is 5 segments. A cross made of 2 pieces of duct tape isn't made of 3.
0:41 One of the combinations is the number…

Every number is one of combinations 🤦

ruclips.net/video/HQvuIq6fXEw/видео.html FOUR SEGMENTS
A nice extra that it can show an X and Y.😊
Really Cool!, now try to make a 4 segment version
that's not 5 segments! that's 6!
Look at the replies to previous comments like this one.
Technically speaking they are five segments, since those two in the E segment can only both be lighted on or off. Just cuz they're separated doesn't mean they're sepaRATE
The 7 looks good
Rip the 4
And 3
That's not even a 5 segment, that's a 6 segment!
segments can be divided physically, so long as they are electrically connected
Just because something is on top of something else, doesn't make that "something else" "other somethings"
insanely creative

NO X
0:36 There actually is X.
there's also y and z
That's six segments, you're not fooling me
Look at segment e

@@DuoVersalthe 4 uses the middle segment so you're gonna have to somewhat tweak it regardless
bruh the middle and left segment are connected, I thought that was noticable.
I got a question, do LED segments need to be straight?

@@SianaGearz Makes sense, thank you.
Except for the 0, it looks pretty nice!
I thought Posy said it's not possible!
This one is even more legible than your six segmented display!
just another segment to make the 0 better and it's done!
I have a design for a six segment display with a trapezium and triangle underneath. Fun to see that others are playing with this idea
bruh thats 6, not 5
top left and middle segment are the same segment, they light up together
@@plotted_pant42 oh, i didn't know that.
There's one little problem with it that the little middle piece is impossible to terminate reliably. But actually that's an easy fix.

“but actually that’s a easy fix” refuses to elaborate
@Daniel-gj7qiYou're right, they do have it, but they don't need it
The little middle segment and the left segment are connected it seems, Because 4, 5, 8, 9 has it and they all have the left segment.
