hey thank you for the info and video! - just fyi, the volume of your voice is at high resistance (low output), which causes me to turn my volume up , to hear you - but when you bang your video camera(phone) on the bench - it might cause an open circuit in my speakers. fwiw.
hello Brian, my E core coil or Screamin demon coil on my 91 foxbody 5.0 the lower primary resistance test i got 000.5 and drops to 000.2 ? is that bad ? when your test was 000.5 and went up to 000.6 ......and the secondary windings i got 08.88 k and you got 07.98 k
Wouldn't it be more accurate to test this on a coil that just ran and is nice and hot? That way you get a true reading of the resistance valued in it's normal operating temperature range
I have a 3.9 v6 mustang and coil pack that you show at 27:00 I am not getting a misfire code but I am getting what feels to me like a small misfire at idle. I am thinking it is ignition related. Could I test the coil with your method here and rule out the coil? I see they are $105 and I don't want to throw away that kind of money. That's what lead me to your video. I want to diagnose the best I can and test different components before spending the time and money
I’ve been scouting the internet for this; what seems like very important and relatively basic information. Thank you for making this video, with clarity and depth.
Awesome video! Very informative. Thank you so much!
Electronic Ignition "E Core Coil" from 12:30 - 18:59. I'm working on a 1984 F250 and lost spark. I now know how to test the coil. Thank you!

The voltage is stepped up by vertue of the fact the primary as fewer windings than the secondary. There, I said it!
What else is in that picture

Fantastic video, very helpful and educational. Thanks!
I was looking everywhere for explanations of the e core coil thankyou

My secondary coil is at 13.03 is that bad?
LoL...go with OEM parts and the rest is history mate.
13.03 ohms...yes, it's bad.
