Miles needs to work on the bump jump technique. Lay down a 2x4 and use it as a bump jump but you have to bounce both wheels of the board. It’s great instant feedback to know if your wheels are leaving the ground independently from the same spot (front wheel then back wheel) or leaving the ground at the same time. It’s all about perspective for a new jumper. He is so focused on the front wheel and needs to learn how to control the rear wheel path. That rear wheel isn’t in your field of view which causes a new jumper to initiate everything too early based off of what he can see which is the front wheel. He’s already absorbing with his legs by the time he needs to “stand”. His rear wheel will leave the ground mid way up the face of the jump every time until he learns to “stand” later in the process to allow rear wheel to track the entire length of the jump face. Imagine the 2x4 is at the very peak of the jump face.

You are brave and quite good on the chunk. It's interesting to see how challenging jumping is for you. I am similar to you. I do not like the feel of being in the air, so naturally always 'eat' up the jump to avoid air time :D I would love to shred when im 62! :) Loooong days ahead!
