When I heard the song for the first time I did not like it it. I thought that Loren voice just would not suit her and I didn’t like the song too. But know after finishing the song I have to say that I think Loren was the best choice. Her voice isn’t strong and captures all the emotions. Hearing her version at the end credit hits even harder cause she sang it which so much passion and emotions she really felt the song. Your cover good and more soft but I don’t feel the same emotions in Loren’s version. Knowing well what that song means to Aerith and the reason why she wrote it I feel like you’re just couldn’t capture it. Don’t get me wrong your voice is beautiful and I genuinely have no intention to hate on you I just think that Loren was the right choice.

It strikes me a deeply wrong that Cloud is watching Aerith sing a passionate song about him while Tifa is there holding his hand. The incongruity of the scene, if you choose Tifa seems to highly identify the canonical nature of Cloutd + Aerith.

Me preferimg the asian version because it actually sounds like Aerith. Dont get me wrong Loren Allred is phenomenal but i felt like her voice was so so so so worlds away from aerith it kind of. Shatters it? I think she was a perfect choice for an ending credits theme and for even the vocal outlines of the song But again i busrt out lauvhing when i saw the cutscene because all i could think is "lol this is aerith lipsyncing to a aay better singer than her"

There’s no such thing as asian vs american version. These two are just two different ways of singing this song so which one do the fans prefer? But for me, in my opinion the second singer almost nails it 100% because Aerith does have a soft voice. It is out of character for Aerith to have such a strong belting voice. Musical-wise yes the first singer does an impressive job, but that’s not Aerith-like.
