If that’s actually how you do smith machine presses or it’s just for the video, your stretch there is pretty bad
Never underestimate the value of open kinetic chain exercises at developing the nervous system! As much as I love the value machines pose to getting people started, free weights offer significant benefits to neuromotor, postural, balance, and unilateral coordination efforts. Considering the muscle fiber is only one component of the motor unit, remembering to challenge the brain with exercise can have profound benefits for performance/health/longevity. I like the smith to start clients off, especially for elevated pushups and inverted rows to show them that they can do the "hard stuff", it just has to be modified until it's achievable.

You can avoid locking out your knees, but it’s more about only making sure you use weight you can control at the top

Should I do wide grip lat pull downs and close grip rows? Or close grip lat pull down and wide grip rows? I want to target my whole back
this is a good question. IMO, picking the close grip lat pulldown and wide grip row will allow you to have two exercises hyper specialized to work those muscles. So for building muscle, choosing the close grip lat pulldown will allow you more lat gains, and a wider grip row will generally net you more upper/midback gains. That said, its possible that the wide grip pulldown and close grip row will get you some better lower lats, but for overall back development i suggest the closer pulldown and wider row.

For me that represents binge eating disorder. Im cancer prone. Ive high body fat though im 5. 7 stone and blaming myself as the last scare was caused by high body fat too. Not every one with extra body fat gets cancer but i react poorly to body fat like that. Only muscle food. Im miserable i sleep 3 hours a night and am kicking myself for letting myself get high body fat saw rolls three in total though i also have a visible six pack. I look ridiculous. Im small but very unnatractive with the fat rolls as they cause low bone mass and cancer cells (twice that happen, when the fat rolls went away, the cells did too) The first 4kg were beautiful then solid fat due to severe binge eating disorder. My dinner is a very bland bowl of rice with a pat of butter at best and some ultra low calorie comdiment and fish, mince or chicken. I train 5 to six hours but because i overhydrated drinking 4 litres even 5 im a tiny framed female size if 7 year old. i actually gained half a kilo last week more cancer cells. Im going to cut 6 kilo then gain lean muscle. I can survive a weight that low. I wouldnt survive chemo.

I am leaning towards Grenade dark chocolate raspberry bar. However, can't stand the sweetness of any protein bar. Until they start making fried potato taste protein bars, I will rather be stuffing boiled eggs down my throat.

i agree and disagree with what you’re saying. i started off with 30 pound lateral raises and ego lifting, however after time i eventually got stronger. ego lifting does help you build muscle. it all comes down to preference

More like a month - aim for 0.5 to 1.5% body weight per month
