Just a Wee Yorkshireman trucking in the U.S.of A!
I'm a truck driver of 34 years now & I've loved every minute, ok maybe not every minute.
It all started on my 20th birthday when my dad informed me I was starting work at his friends haulage company(shit I didn't really want a job,it was the late 80's)Longbones Haulage Hull.
Fast forward to Christmas of 93 & at last my first international trip,Yugoslavia! Yes, a war zone. Beggars can't be choosers and it was an international trip; I'm on it. It gets better, I was in an FL6 with a pod on the top.
8 months later, I find myself landing a job in Spain for David Espana & living in Spain for 10 years.
Then back to the UK for 15 years of UK shunting, but still doing BIG motorcycle adventures. 2 trips to Morocco & countless trips to Europe,& my biggest 1 yet: a solo trip for Yorkshire Air ambulance to Kazakhstan,
You probably get the jist; I love traveling, so when my American wife said she wanted to move back to America I said...

I live in a small village in Derbyshire . When the locals complain about trucks i say next time you don't have goods in the shops don't complain . Anyway great video amazing scenery would love to drive in the US but M62 M1 etc will have to do lol .

@jhony-zz2ym hi my friend doesn't work for that company anymore, but I do know there is a few more companies over on the east coast of Canada that will hire foreigners, sorry I don't know the names of them I live in the USA I'm sure if you just Google it you will come up with something good luck

Not really but I've heard it does happen over on the east coast, (a certain influx of foreign people have brought their low life habits with them) It's very rare that I lock the trailer doors

Hi , i was at the Transport Museum in St Louis and in the car park is a Rubber Duck Mack and trailer. I have watched your class videa of you geting a drive in the truck and I was wondering whereabouts the location is of that guy who owns it. Thanks in advance.
@markkwilliamson the guy who owns it now is the original guy who pulled out the scrap yard and did all the work on her, he sold it several years ago to a guy called Anthony that is when Anthony invited me down to see the truck, but since then Anthony sold it back to the original guy that's how come it's back in its original place in the museum with the last remaining trailer original trailer that is, also that truck is the last remaining truck from the film

That water is bloody cold even around San Francisco even in July. We was over there in 1984 doing the grockle thing watching the surfers and thought they were wearing rubber suits to stop getting scratched and bleeding attracting sharks till I went for a paddle because it was the Pacific I jumped right out again balls in my mouth. Great vid Hope you and family are all good.

@ianb2675 yes it is 100%, if you've ever watched the film Harry and the Hendersons that is where it was filmed some of it, the roadside coffee shop I was talking about they have a seating area and i stop there every time I pass and take my coffee staring up at the mountains ⛰️ You know Bigfoot is out there somewhere

Wow! The views at the top were really spectacular. I'm glad for the ride along with you. Its unlikely I'll ever make it over that route. At age 75 my long trips from AZ are mostly a thing of the past. Like you, I love the mountains!

@143580BUD I don't know I find docs quite magical places especially first thing in the morning when nobody else is about, with a great big cranes stretching out into the sky(oh but I don't think I'd want to swap)

I'm a driver as it was a natural extension to farm work. I played with Britains, Corgi, Matchbox etc and as I always say, I didnt grow up, the toys just got bigger. I'm a truck driver because quite simply, I love it.
@trisfry2372 I think we're a Dying Breed that's the problem, I hear people saying they love the job but nine times out of 10 its only the ones with the ones driving the V8 Scania, take that away from them then you'll hear them b**** and cry
