Whole Class Word Work (with 3 differentiated groups)
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.10 месяцев назад
In this video we see word work in action in a class. There are 3 differentiate groups receiving instruction. Ultimately small groups is great if every group has an adult instructing them but if this is not the case, it is best to do a whole class lesson that is differentiated (so you don't have lost time on busy work and rotations). Phonemic Awareness Drills (Whole Class Example)
Просмотров 2 тыс.10 месяцев назад
Oral Phonemic Awareness drills should be done daily. They should be short, sharp drills orally for no more than 5 minutes. Echo Reading (Year 1 example)
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.10 месяцев назад
Echo Reading is the process where students read a sentence after hearing a teacher or confident reader. This process helps students improve their reading fluency by providing a model for accurate pronunciation, intonation, and pacing.

Просмотров 5 тыс.10 месяцев назад
Fluency Pairs is a wonderful low variance routine that can be a useful lesson to allow all students the opportunity to read aloud. During this time the teacher can either roam and give feedback to different pairs or take a small targeted group.

Cool, my son just watched this and immediately went and wrote the words on a piece of paper, grabbed a car and showed me that he can do it. I've ordered your level one to try with him - he is nearly 9 and struggling with reading due to dyspraxia (a speech disorder) and most likely dyslexia - hopefully this helps.
