Австралия
Добавлен 5 ноя 2018
We are a couple of mates who love getting out in the wilderness, exploring, adventuring and not taking ourselves too seriously.
At any given chance, you may find us 4wding in the Victoria High Country, Hiking in Tassie, Fishing or simply camping in our great outdoors.
We hope to bring our adventures to you. To show you our great country and hopefully inspire you to get outdoors.
Victoria is our main play ground.

4wding at Cobaw State Forest | January 2023
Cobaw State Forest is a great 4wding destination in Victoria for a day trip (or even an overnight camp). It is only 100kms north of Melbourne, making it an ideal spot. The forest is relatively small, which means it is quick drive between the fun tracks. There are definitely some very fun and challenging 4wd tracks.
On this particular trip, the tracks were still clearly impacted from the storms and floods back in 2022.
My only piece of advice is to be prepared!

Goulburn Weir | Kayak Fishing | Murray Cod
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.Год назад
Goulburn Weir is one of my favourite Murray Cod Fishing destination in Victoria! You will see why in this video and I fish and explore the lake. It is peaceful, pretty, not crowded and contains Murray Cod. Goulburn Weir, Nagambie Lakes and sections of the Goulburn river are great Murray Cod Fishing options and still accessible (given the floods and water levels in many of the major rivers at th...
Lake Nillahcootie | Murray Cod Opening 2022 | Exploring | Camping | Boating
Просмотров 3 тыс.2 года назад
We spent an awesome 5 days at Lake Nillahcootie. This was truly one of our best Billion Star Adventures! The fishing was hot, the weather was hot and the surrounding mountain ranges were truly spectacular. Apart from our usual fishing, we drove through Mount Samaria State Park, visited Mansfield and loved every moment of this trip. We caught over 30 fish and most were natives. We can't wait to ...
Lake Mulwala Cod Opening 2022 | Kayak Fishing | Boat Fishing | Camping
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.2 года назад
Cod Opening in 2022 finally arrived! Our plans to fish and camp in NSW proper were not possible due to all the rain and flooding. Instead we decided to head to Lake Mulwala and fish, camp and explore for a couple of days before the Cod Classic started. We then moved on to Lake Nillahcootie and this turned out to be another awesome adventure. As always, we had a ball! Lake Mulwala is a beautiful...
King Valley - Camping and Exploring
Просмотров 1 тыс.2 года назад
We had our annual 4wd Club meet-up in the King Valley. We spent our days exploring the area, visiting wineries, sampling local produce and of course a a little 4wding. The weather was cold and wet which did limit our ability to hit the all the 4wd tracks that were planned. Still an awesome time. There is so much to explore in the King Valley and this is yet another gem in Victoria.

Major Creek and Goulburn River Camping and Kayak Fishing | Murray Cod Winter Fishing
Просмотров 3 тыс.2 года назад
We spent 3 days up at Major Creek camping and kayak fishing for Murray Cod with the Yak Hunter crew. Major Creek and the Goulburn River are some of the closest waters to Melbourne that have Murray Cod. The weather held out and while we didn't catch any Cod, we still had an awesome time in the great outdoors.
Gunbower Island Winter Reccy | Gunbower Creek| Pelican Catch 110 HDII Kayak Fishing
Просмотров 7712 года назад
I headed up to Gunbower Island for a Winter reccy, fish and camp. However I didn't listen to the locals and found out the hard and long way that the creek was being drained. It is an awsome National Park and I did discover the sections that I will be back to fish in Summer. I also had fun playing around in the Pelican Catch 110 HDII kayak with the pedal system.
A guide and review of our Aussie Bush Camping Setup | Remote Camping | Wild Camping
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.2 года назад
We have been remote bush camping in the Aussie Bush for well over 30 years and would like to share our camp setup and tips. We have camped in torrential rain and also 40 degree temperatures in the desert. Our longest bush camping was for ~6 weeks. If you are a first time camper, hopefully you learn a few tips. And if you are an experienced camper, it is always great to see how other people setu...
Edward River at Gulpa Island in Winter. Camping, Boating, Kayaking and Fishing.
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.2 года назад
Gulpa Island in NSW is an amazing place for outdoor activities. Plenty of opportunities to camp, fish, boat, kayak, canoe, bushwalk and bird watch. Gupla Island is surrounded by Edward River (which is an anabranch of the Murray River) and Gulpa Creek. Being winter, the temperatures were low, especially overnight. However we were rewarded with amazing blue skies during the day, albeit still rath...

Goulburn Weir May 2022 (Nagambie) | Murray Cod Kayak Fishing | Final Fish Before Winter
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.2 года назад
This was my last Murray Cod fishing session before Winter kicks in. After this trip, the kayak will be put away until Cod Opening in December. Goulburn Weir is quickly becoming one of my favourite fishing spots. The Weir is amazing, with great fishing opportunities for a variety of species. It is just as much fun to cruise around on the yak admiring the scenery.

Amazing video! Any more overnight hikes you can take a dog?
Rods are too far apart, classified as set lines!
Cod are sea fish aren't they?
Hello my name Is Neil my grandma one’d a farm on western side of lake directly across From boat ramp I think where you caught first cod there is a clay bank out from the point full of yabbie holes We used to catch plenty of red fin over yabbie holes the clay bank separates to deep section of river I had 40 years of fishing there on weekends I live in Sunbury 🛶🦈

Great, I’m looking to get a used one
Was even better when you could hunt there
Can we get there without a 4x4?
There is bush camping on the lake 🤭🤫
Great review on the Slayer 10 - thank you. Can you recommend a good roof rack system for loading 2 Slayer 10's? (I am a beginner). Thank you. Kind regards, Phil.
Thank you. I would like to know how is the propel stored compared to flap drive system? I have seen some videos saying propel are much bigger hard to store in a car as well as needing a good place to store than flap system, which is much eaiser. What you think?😃
Hey mate, I would agree that the Propel unit is harder to store in the car as it is a somewhat awkward shape. I often go kayak fishing and remote camping for up to a week at a time and I manage to pack all my camping and fishing gear without a problem. I wouldn't be deciding on a kayak drive system based primarily on how you can store it unless you are seriously constrained for space. Once you hit the water, the feel of a solid propel drive unit makes up for any packing challenges.
I usually go camping and fishing during the wet season.it’s great!!
This looks awesome, thanks for sharing this. I'm planning to do this walk after the Lerderderg. Couple of questions for you. Is there water in the tank at Cameron's? Also there looked to be a few creeks, how close are they to camp if I bring a water filter with me rather than carrying 4L?
Hey Andrew, there was water in the tank when we went. There wasn't a creek close to our camp (although we didn't exactly explore the area for a creek or other water sources). Many of the creeks along the route did have water in them. However it is worth noting that this was after significant rain. I personally would carry water as this area is often very dry. We are heading back up in a couple of weeks for some 4wding :)
@@billionstarsadventures fantastic, thanks for the feedback. I'm likely to be doing this in winter, but will carry water and the filter and work it out from there.
The tracks in the area have really changed . What was once medium to hard driving is leaning towards extreme .
Well done guys! Looks like you had a great day out! 😎
You will have to come along next time :)
Another great video Harps.
Great video where did you camp
Another good day on the water for you . A tip don't poke your tounge out when fishing and casting , you may bite it off .
Haha. I inherited the poking out of the tongue.
wow... spotnya luarbiasa... bikin semangat mancingnya... semoga sehat selalu kawan...
Where you have accessed it there is that ulupna bridge Rd? Thanks
Hey mate, fish this all the time, where are you launching from, heading up to Hobie it over weekend.
Hey mate, I usually launch from Cozens Lane. What about you? And good luck with the fishing.
@@billionstarsadventures hey mate yeah I thought it was.... looked familiar.
Top video Harps. I loved the carp headbutting the boat.
Cheer Emo! If you watch that bit of the video in slow motion, the fish actually launches out of the water for the headbutt!
Beautiful peaceful
OMG beautiful place 😍
Didn't think you were allowed to camp at nillacootie ?
Yup, you sure can. I covered this all in the vid. Enjoy mate.
Great video, I was wondering where you were camping at lake Nillahcootie?
Hey Zaki, we were camping at "Lake Nillahcootie Camping and Caravan Site".
@@billionstarsadventures Thanks mate, I noticed you said that later on in the video, my mistake for commenting prematurely. I’m heading up there camping and fishing this weekend, hoping to catch some natives.
Well done good to see you out and about and just having fun.
Good to see the cod are on the chew .
Hi, do you have any idea how Barmah flooding
Where do you live ?
We live in Australia.
Looks like an awesome spot. Hopefully it dries out soon as I’d love to head up there to fish with my son!
Yes, agree. The area has been closed for a long time now. Quite a bit longer to go I think.
Good vid mate, check out Camping Guru on Tarp setup, he has a great tip for guy ropes, Happy Camping.
I know this is a question that ALL fishermen may not answer, but, where exactly on the Edward River are you?. Deniliquin area ?, further up or further down?. Tried to find the location on maps but unsuccessful. Looking for somewhere away from the crowd to set up and put the kayak in.
Me and the family go up there alot it a beautiful place to camp the last time we were up there our shrimp nets were over run by hundreds of little carp
Yup, it's probably our favourite place to camp. Looking forward to it re-opening.
@@billionstarsadventures hopefully you are up there next time me and the family are there
good video i want a slayer max i I only have social security budget thank you for your video
hey mate where was that diversion?
Hey mate, its a short walk from Deptford Picnic Area. It is called Houghton's Diversion Tunnel.
Hey mate Does Luxy lane track have another name? Looks good but I can’t find it
Camped there once many years ago . Bad expereince . Dry dusty and got crowded in . Put me off . Anyhow hope the fishing went well for you .
Keren bosku.Hadir menyimak bosku.salam silaturohmi semoga melimpah riskinya dan tambah maju chanelnya
All that for a carp
Hey Ross, in Winter, I will go out of my way to catch carp :). Beats catching donuts.
@@billionstarsadventures go nutz lol
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Good stuff mate! Nice area up there too. Which version of the peddle yaks do you like best out of the 2 you have used now. Keep up the good work 😎
Thanks mate! The Catch 110HD is a great kayak and I do like it. However I have a clear favourite in the Slayer 10 Propel. The ability to pedal in reverse can not be underestimated when lure fishing in freshwater. That is why my view is that the propeller based pedal systems are way superior to the fin based pedal systems.
Looked like another nice spot, what did you think of the Pelican kayak.
The Catch HD110 is a solid kayak at a really good price point for a pedal kayak. They are made in Canada so you get the great quality. It feels well built, stable and tracks well in the water for an 10-11 ft kayak.
Such a nice spot. We are lucky to have these places
Absolutely. We should never take them for granted.
Great guide, what stood out was the blanket. I once had one similar. Hard to come by these days!
Cool set up you have got keep it simple and pack light. After 30 years of camping you soon find out what works for you.
Thanks, the tarp setup works well for us. We still are fine tuning what we pack, even after 30 years. :). Depends on the type of trip and if we are base camping or touring. The key is not to forget any of the necessary items.
Peefect mate! We will have to get up the Murray again soon!
Sounds good. Or how about a VHC trip? You up for that?
I want to buy this over the newer max because it’s lighter and easier to car top. Do you still suggest it? Considering the newer other options. In Canada it’s the same price as the hobie compass I found one new locally but it’s full price despite being old now - 500 less than the newer max
Hey Jay, I personally prefer the Slayer 10 over the Slayer 10 Max for the reason you point out - weight and the ability to car top. The Max is a better option if you want to install lots of gadgets. It has the really cool access for an under hull transducer mount without drilling, electronic switch mounting plates, ability to mount a rear anchor or motor and the cool inserts for tackle boxes. Both are amazing kayaks with the Propel Pedal unit.
Good Stuff Guys- fishing always tough in Winter!!
Hey mate, very true. It is still great fun to get out and about and plan for the warmer months.
Looked like a great spot, and I could not ask for any more than that outdoors, nature, campfire and having a fish.
100% agree. It is the perfect way to spend our free time. :)
