My son's almost 8 years old and he still holds my hand probably it's a comfort thing it's a protection thing it's a thing that he does but I tell you what I'm going to hold that boy's hand until he doesn't hold it anymore cuz there's going to come a time where he's not going to want to do any of that stuff anymore and I'm going to miss it for the rest of my life so I will hold his hand I will give him hugs I will give him kisses for as long as he wants me to cuz that's how you give a kid the tools for the future for his wife and how he's going to treat his wife lovingly and his kids lovingly rather than being somebody like my dad that was very distant never wanted to do anything like that never gave me hugs never told me he loved me he was never affectionate and I told myself when I was a kid that and I tell myself even to this day and people ask me to this day oh you must have had a great father no I didn't have a great father I am a great father now because I know how to not be a father because of the way my dad treated me and the way he acted now granted he wasn't raised that way and so he was just doing what he was raised like Well you know what I want to be better than my father I don't want to keep perpetuating the same actions as the people before me I want to be better than that I want to change my lineages future and the only way to do that is know how and what's wrong and then change it and I did so I literally just do everything opposite of what my father did
