I just have to share this story, I used to go to onset in the late '80s with my mom on vacation for a week. I used to walk down and go fish off the onset Pier basically every day. It turned out I was there the exact time where there was a squid run? I think that's what it's called. Off of the pier the boat docks are down lower to the right side. There were probably 10 guys down there with big nets. Like handheld nets. There were so many squid that they could scoop them up like it was their job lol. Every scoop you could get 20 of them. The entire area was packed with millions of them. And when I say millions I'm not exaggerating. I will never forget it. I was probably 12 at the time. I remember having the fluorescent green jig with the hooks at the bottom of it. What I would give to go back. Thanks for listening. One other thing I should mention is it was at night. Yeah, thanks buddy, now there are people fishing off that Beverly pier with very bright lights and generators, squid ink and birds everywhere, it used to be a quiet place to dock and sleep if you belong to the marina. People pay $ 6000 a summer to sleep next to a generator.

How I miss fishing Yankee ! I fished with them for over 40 years ! I live in Florida now ! But miss the fishing in the gulf of Maine ! It is so much different here in Florida ! Many of the tactics I used foe cod ,pollock a Haddock and other species don't work here ! Thanks for the memory's !
