    a really important thing to note is that if you lower the Pistol skill to Untrained at the New Game skill screen, it'll automatically be raised back to Trained once the game starts, meaning you should always Untrain it on a new game for the free extra skill points. this is a known bug. another bug to note is the Plasma Rifle/PS20 both have their damage values broken in the latest patch of the game and they arent worth using now.

    Minicrossbow: You have not done enough research. First keep in mind for a lot of your demonstrations, NSF troopers have less health than almost all humans, 80 vs 100. That's why some of your demonstrations get the results they do, especially on Liberty Island. The tranq dart does damage the way any weapon does, and then the poison damage does recurring damage to the torso. If the enemy succumbs to nonlethal damage, he silently falls to unconscious. That means you can help him along the way by shooting him again, with another dart or possibly with a stealth pistol or silenced sniper in the arm. It's been years since I crunched the numbers, but at Master and possibly at Advanced, a headshot is instant and nonlethal to troopers without a stealth bonus.

  • @ZedemMonk
    @ZedemMonk 2 месяца назад

    Some notes: For Stealth non-lethal players; the tranquilizer dart loaded mini-crossbow does work instantly if you can headshot at master pistol skill due to the x8 multiplier on headshot damage. Also, you forgot gas grenades as a ranged grouped enemy/trap mechanism to incapacitate enemies before you knock them out. For stealth lethal players the stealth pistol is actually a worse choice than the normal dart loaded mini crossbow that has nearly double it's damage (15 damage to stealth pistol's 8) meaning you have to be master level in pistol to one shot headshot with the stealth pistol whereas the crossbow can do that completely untrained. The stealth pistol's advantages are on reload time, range and availability of ammunition. Silencer mods can also be applied to the Sniper Rifle and Assault Rifle for high damage and high rate of fire quiet force projection respectively. For stealth and non-stealth lethal players the Sniper Rifle can be used at Master Level to destroy cameras, turrets and alarm panels.

    nobody ever talks about the eye augmentation. The eye augmentation allows you to fly a camera around corners and down corridors without being seen. When you are done with the little "Ship" it sends down you hit the button and it detonates an EMP blast. That blast gets stronger, and the speed of the camera gets quicker. When fully augmented you can take out any robotic or electronic guards from a huge distance away by flying the ship and igniting it. The last scene, there are two heavy robotic guards in the entrance hallway at the far end, you don't even need to be in the building to take them out this way.

    • @Ryvaken
      @Ryvaken Месяц назад

      That's an eye aug in Invisible War. In DX it's a head aug, and it competes against Aggressive Defense, which is a huge survivability choice. Also, taking spy drone means the "activate all augs right now" panic button is not helpful. Also the spy drone EMP is a one hit KO to all bots at level 3. Maxing it to level 4 is a waste of upgrades.

    2:48 Heavily disagree here about skills being easy to understand It's very easy to waste skill points if you don't know their effectiveness. For example, computer skill SUCKS beyond trained, advanced only lets you reprogram turrets(and they suck in DX1 compared to Human Revolution where they have wider range of turret movement, they always work and not just when alarm is on, and you can pick up turrets in HR/MD for extra funnies. Master Computer skill doesn't even do anything besides giving you extra time before being kicked off the menu. In HR and MD hacking is way more important for getting the most out of the maps, in DX1, keep computer at trained to spare oh so needed skill points. Next, almost NEVER master any skills, only exceptions are Pistol, Rifle and Low Tech, and you only master those if you specifically doing run with their weapons(regular pistol for pistol skill, sniper rifle and/or sabot ammo sawed off shotgun for breaking objectives, and dragon tooth and baton for low tech. Another noob points trap is mastering lockpicking and especially electronics. It's most expensive master skill and it's not worth it, game already provides plenty of lockpicks or explosives to break stuff, and electronics is even worse since it's easy to avoid most electronic security objects and most locks are mechanical not electronic. Swim is just, da meme, literally not worth it unless you're build is very straightforward and small and you just don't want to waste time slowly swimming, there's like 2 locations(one in the secret water base where you definitely can't reach hidden ship with no swim skill and another location in Hong Kong flooded district i think is too long to swim)where you need to swim long way and you can either use two rebreathers for it or not care about it. Environmental training also pretty pointless even on combat builds since you can't really go rambo in Deus Ex without burning up all ammo so game kinda forces you to always be tactical in your shooting and avoid dmg but Ig you can upgrade it once or twice since it's pretty cheap. Heavy and especially explosives is also bad, explosives already do max dmg you need to break toughest breakable objects so you won't cross new thresholds by leveling it and the window to turn off mines is pretty generous even without investing a single point into explosives. Heavy skill is only good n fun if you have mods making Plasma rifle good again, besides plasma rifle and Ig flamethrower you really shouldn't be using heavy weapons as main tool, and GEP gun/Law already one shot everything soo... Really kinda niche skill Also Healing skill is, again, kinda pointless since ammo is kinda scarce in Deus Ex and enemies give way too few of it, so game insentivises tactical shooting where you avoid dmg. So yeah, it IS vital info to know about skills,

    1:35 That's only true for later game enemies, early game enemies don't need you investing a single point in low tech skill to one shot em with baton from behind. Also even for later game enemies you can just circle strafe them and keep using baton on their lower back to end them in 2-3 hits

    I've been replaying this game for years and I have never fired a from the of GEP gun. My build always boils down to baton, stealth pistol, and agility/stealth related stuff. I just love role-playing what Deus Ex kinda intends you to role-play. This misses out on a LOT to be honest, to the point of advising players away from very good tactics. For one, people definitely use pistols given the basic pistol can headshot from trained level or so. In fact, best option is if anything to take the points out of pistol, put them wherever (or keep them for later), and in vanilla you'll find you started with trained anyway. It's relatively easy to start with advanced pistols pretty early, about on par with leveling low-tech skill. It works as basically a bootleg sniper rifle with only a modest combination of skill and accuracy mods, from far enough out that enemies won't hear the gunshot (negating the main drawback it has over the stealth pistol) Second, starting with advanced in computers is actually VERY good, and something you can potentially do from the start of the game. It unlocks the ability to turn turrets against enemies, which is astoundingly broken and you get plenty of opportunities to cheese this. Those things can take on anything up to commandos and light bots pretty much effortlessly, and are very good for creating safe areas to fall back to (the prelude to the cathedral level gives you a good chance). It's also worth noting that lockpick and electronics skills can be flat-out ignored in vanilla, IF you're willing to take advantage of an exploit. By starting to unlock the item, hitting the inventory key or other menus that pause the game, then idling for long enough to let the unlocking progress, you can open any level of lock, keypad, etc with only a single pick or multitool. GMDX fixes the explit and also locks turrets behind master level computer skill (:<), no idea what Revision does, but definitely worthwhile to consider in vanilla.

    • @danielsurvivor1372
      @danielsurvivor1372 8 месяцев назад

      Definitely agree with you about pistols being good skill, especially if you consider the fact that 10 mm probably most common ammo type, and it's very good and forgiving for new players who might miss a lot. But you do lose out on rifles being your cheap lockpick by leveling pistol skill so there are tradeaways. Also you're the second blud here promoting advanced computer tf y'all smoking 💀 There aren't that many turrets around enemies so it's mostly a waste, small robots are already easily defeated by emp and especially lam's, even on untrained explosives skill. I mean if you like the "stealth lethal" type of build Ig it's alright but still just meh

    • @danielsurvivor1372
      @danielsurvivor1372 8 месяцев назад

      Also not only promoting exploits to ignore skills is 😂 moment but also makes game too easy. It's already a ton of skills that are outright useless(swim) or close to it(healing, environmental training, explosives, heavy in vanilla game, computer on master and maybe advanced) That's why despite loving Deus Ex 1, even more than it's sequels, I do wish Skills system was better made 😢

    The normal pistol is good. It becomes perfectly accurate with laser sight and one shots normal enemies with a headshot, and three shots Men in Black. You untrain the skill at the start because it gives you free points. The pistol skill defaults back to trained, even if you downgrade it at game start.

      @danielsurvivor1372 more of a glitch, but if you don't want to play with glitches then don't. There's another glitch with lockpicks and multitools where if you start using one then hit pause, it'll continue working while paused. This let's you use one lockpick or multitool for every door in the game, without any points in electronics or lockpicking

    stick with the prod, it is the most silent way to remove resitance but remember that a headshot is a lethal takedown, sometimes its best to pick them up from a distance so take a sniper rifle and you never know when you come across some heavy armor so a GEP gun might be useful.
