The nipples that these supply houses are buying from overseas are the absolute worst. Sometimes they don’t even start like they aren’t tapered enough. Forget about them being reamed. Will cut you before quick can even get ready.
Shark bite fittings have absolutely no place underground!!! A quality pack joint fittings from Ford or other underground rated supply company are what this job needs, plus an underground rated ball valve. No need to fill in the hole you dug, so next year it will be easier change next time.

I am truly shocked and surprised that somebody would put a shark bite fitting underground and not expected to fail, especially with that much pressure on it on that tight loop on that red line would never use a short bite where it wasn’t accessible. It is going to fail it’s just a matter of time
