Until she drives away and in 3 blocks gets into closed loop and returns p0017 for correlation bank 1 sensor b .. This motor Must be timed in two stages to insure your phasers are clocked correctly with the gear
Yeah, no that car has been repaired for a few years already no code no correlation codes. It’s just fine thanks for the comment anyway..
@angelsautomotivediy ok well I'm not saying it to be rude the phaser works by rotating the gear in relation to the cam so say you have a phaser in the fully advanced state when you apply your chain this will cause your motor to start and run fine due to the ability of the phaser to adjust however the moment it tries to go to a retarded state it maxes out and you get a correlation code .. The purpose of multi stage is to reset the phaser to its tdc position there is a chance you can get lucky and your cams end up this way but you're relying on dumb luck and I'm happy it worked for you but it's not a great idea to recommend others to do so without explaining the risks (in my opinion at least) .
@@213BRANDONPNo one got lucky here it was done and done correctly many many people do not do the two stage timing as GM you use your cam locks line up your marks rotate the engine then rotate it back and recheck your marks. Watch my tips video on this very job. As with many many many jobs you don’t always follow every exact step you can get the job done in many less steps with experience etc. I also didn’t job with the motor in the car many remove the whole engine to do the chains more than one way to skin a cat. In fact go watch the cloyes video on this job and you’ll see they don’t even time it in two stages.
😂😂😂😂😂
SRT 🤩🤩🤩🤩great vid
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the fix videos, saves us 🤑🤑🤑 you are the man!!!!
Thank you!! Love your channel
Great Job!!! Love your channel
Thank you for a fantastic video.
You’re very welcome. Hope it helped.
Jingle all the way! Down the LIE cool short 🎄
🩵🩵🩵nice short
Sitting here in Vegas ready to head back to CO and I get a call from Denver PD. Back rear door wind was smashed by some low life. Of course it’s snowing when we get back. Now Im making plans to fix it!!! Sorry SOB who did this! Thanks for the thorough video. Same truck and same color.
Sorry to hear that man, hopefully they can catch the prick. Glad the video can help. Happy Thanksgiving.
I start my 05 srx in flood mode first thing in the morning no timing chatter right now it's been doing it for 2years change oil every 2.000 miles 10w30 castrol high mileage. Also drilled out the pcv breather. And add a bottle of rislone every now and then.264.000 miles.👍
That’s awesome shows they can go the distance.
Good Job
Very informative!! Especially in situations such as the one you had! Keep up the great vids!! I liked and subscribed
You never showed placing the glass into the door. Waste of everyone’s time.
Thanks for the view and comment. Ok now this wasn’t an exact step by step tutorial however if you follow what I did you’ll see that it’s very easy to figure out how to put the glass in. Make sure the clips are in right slide the window in use suction cups if you have them or good ol tape to hold it up and put it back together. My apologies it didn’t meet your approval. Take care.
I just watched the video and even I could figure out how to do it without seeing it. Geez, some people!!!!
Where are u location
I’m in New York. Please like and subscribe if you haven’t already. Thank you.
❤cool car
And it’s not a Nomad either 😊
Okay explain this one to me.
It's a 150 two door wagon. No slanted b pillar, no ribbed roof. Different chrome and interior and nomads are Belairs.
@@gregpiecuch3802Ahhhh okay thank you so much for explaing it to me I know there were so many different models and trims to choose from back in the day. Love the classics always will but I didn’t see many of these growing up in the 80’s but when I did they always turned my head. Old soul I guess thanks again please like subscribe if you haven’t already, take care.
Nice but it's a 56 not a 55.
You're right, it's a 56'. Thanks for the correction! Please like and subscribe if you haven’t already. I’ll fix that in one second.
Replacing chains with engine still in?
Absolutely contrary to popular belief you do not have to drop the subframe and engine out of the car to do it as you can see in my long form video and my tips video. Thanks for the comment. Please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
I can’t turn the crank to install 3rd chain. Am a inch off
Help
Sorry to hear that, but something has to be wrong. I don’t know exactly what but you would have to start from the very beginning and do it again something‘s wrong take your time and go through everything nice and slow slowly. Hope you get it done. Thanks for the comment and the view please like and subscribe if you haven’t already I can’t emphasize enough just take your time and go through everything slowly. Good luck man.
@@angelsautomotivediy is there possibility that valves be interfering?
man I hope not that’s a big problem if so but it could be, you do not want to turn that crank independently of the cams or if it’s not timed right.
@@angelsautomotivediy sticking valves 🤷♂️
Nice!! 🤩🤩🤩
hi angel i have the same problem can you fix my?
I’m sorry I don’t do side work if you’re mechanically inclined, you can try there’s plenty of books out there and videos, and if you’re not, you’re gonna have to have a mechanic do it for you thanks for the view and comment. Please consider subscribing and liking.
I have a 2007 Chevrolet Captiva LTZ 3.2L V6. Got it from an elderly couple living in an old age home, about 50k km on the clock. Did an alignment and oil change. Car gets going fast. Unfortunately my timing change is probably poop right now and she's not starting, she's spinning straight. Chevrolet isn't very common in south africa(I'm south african) so it's really difficult for me to get it fixed correctly. I'm currently doing research so i can educate myself. This engine is very tricky
Just take your time with it and you’ll be alright. Thanks for the view and comment please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
In the packet they don't give enough alloy to do that
I wrapped it up pretty good and it got pretty hard, but I was asking a lot on that flex pipe on a regular pipe maybe but it didn’t work on this one thanks for the view and comment. Please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.

Again the Yankees get all the calls. They scored the winning run after the call was upheld at 2nd when the runner was clearly out. Then in the ninth inning Bobby Witt Jr. should have walked putting one of the fastest players in MLB at first base with one out. Instead he was called out on a pitch that was clearly below the strike zone. FTY.
Hey, that’s baseball. There are so many missed calls in a game these days that’s why they’re looking at Robo umpires and if it’s a bang bang play on the field they’re gonna up hold whatever was called on thefield. thanks for the view and comment please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
OIL changes are VERY important on these engines.
I would say every engine not just these but with all the oil passages and tensioners relying on oil pressure one can argue especially these. Hey thanks for the view and comment please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
@@angelsautomotivediy I have had some old Chevys that can tolerate hit or miss oil change intervals and still stand up for a good long time. This V6 needs to stay clean inside,
@gphilipc2031 yep! You must stay on top of regular routine oil change. Every vehicle engine loves a clean, good quality oil. Neglect, and you will have issues down the road if left unchanged for a very long time.
@@mrvang8077 And batteries ... make sure your cable lugs are clean and tight. I just broke down with a dead battery at Walmart last night. Auto Zone was a 1/4 mile walk. WHAT A BITCH to change a battery in a Gen 9 Impala. Expect to pay over $200.00 to bruise your arms and fingers with a crescent wrench and a flashlight. GOD knows what a wrecker would of cost. I'm back on the road though.

I’m gonna do this soon. How many bushings I need? I see you did two, my question is what part is that other one that doesn’t look like a bushing? Do you also have a link for it? Thanks!
It’s three bushings total I got them from creative-steel.com you have the upper mount front mount and the passenger side mount. Thanks for the view and comment, please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.

What’s up SSJTrunks thanks for the view and comment please like and subscribe if you haven’t already. Just Google solder paste and it will come up you can get it on Amazon, Home Depot, EBay. Take care.
@@angelsautomotivediy thanks for reply, actually that pen too like like it has the solder built in didn’t see any metal wire used, was that the case?

Camshafts removed from passenger side but not driver side. Timing never changed there. Now trying to find timing on passenger. Already into the situation of the chain marks not lining up anymore on driver side. Will top dead center always make sure the camshafts are where they are supposed to be in the sequence even if the chain marks don't match up? And does setting the chain marks correctly on the passenger side mean it's not in time if the marks aren't also lined up on the driver side? Thanks
Ok I’m assuming your primary chain wasn’t touched either. So the drivers side and primary should be ok but you should try to check. The color links are there to assist you however the marks are physically there. So with that being said, put number one cylinder at top dead center that would have everything lined up properly and then you’re gonna have to line up the marks on the cams on the passenger side, which is where number one cylinder is the good thing is you can rotate the motor around without having to worry about hitting the valves because you have the cams removed you said, so get that to TDC then put the cams back in line up the marks very carefully lock the cams and put the chain on count the links if you count the link that on the mark it will be 12 if you count in between it’ll be 10 then rotate the engine forward by hand a few rotations then backwards to see the marks all lineup and you should be OK from that point. Thanks for the view and comment. I hope this helps you out please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
Please do a vid on replacing the thermostat.., must remove the intake? Tx…
If I come across that job I definitely will record it. Thanks for the view please like and subscribe if you haven’t already take care..
Is it true that you have to take it all apart to change the phaser? I’ve heard you can do it with a tool
You do, but there is a tool. The tool is a little expensive. If you’re gonna do it on a regular basis, you could buy the tool but to do it the one time I don’t know that’s up to you. Thanks for the view and comment please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
@@angelsautomotivediy thank you. You wouldn’t happen to know what that tool is would you? And where I can buy one?

I have an impala limited, last generation of this engine. Runs flawlessly, only had to replace the purge valve. I am not nice to this car. It doesn't matter anyway, the block could crack in half, it would still be a fraction of the cost to replace vs spending an asinine amount of money on a new vehicle.
I’m not easy on any of my cars either and absolutely repair a car before buying one prices are ridiculous and quality is low. Thanks for the view and comment please like and subscribe.
Got 2011 commodore RWD. At 170km the pump went on 6 spd auto. Common problem! $5k replacement. I service it myself doing engine every 5k. Cheap insurance!!!!! Just do it. And service ur auto/manual plus the diff! Sv
Absolutely, maintenance is key with these bad boys, they seem to hold up well as long as you maintain them. Thanks for the comment and view please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
They are a SAAB engine, the design came when GM bought SAAB. Must open the breather up and run diesel oil in them! In Aus there North south mounted but unfortunately that meams the thermostat is at the back of the engine!.. dang!
