I lived in Texas off and on for 55 years. I hated it then and I hate Texas now. Arrogance, stupid politics, good ole boy network and police, did I mention. Ignorance? I have a bunch of family in Texas including my grown children and their children. I don't care. I got out in 2017. When I was 17 and very pregnant with my first child, the klu klux klan had a rally in front of the court house on main Street in Grand Prairie. No thank you. My mom was born in Texas and passed in 2011 but before she died she said: This ain't the Texas I know.

Let me focus the argument a bit as to why Texas sucks. Granted everyone looks for different things in life but there’s a few areas where Texas is just objectively awful. The towns and cities here are ugly, car dependent, and run down. Everything is built cheaply here. They throw up strips malls and parking lots everywhere and anywhere. Then in 10 years when the building is decaying and looks horrible because it was built ooorly to begin with the abandon it and build another one next to it. Drivers here are stupid. Yes, literally stupid. They sit on their cell phones and ride in the left lane, refuse to yield, and then try and race you when you try and pass on the right. They are fake nice. Service roads make traffic worse with oncoming traffic testing to merge every half mile. Road construction is never completed. It’s too damn hot. There’s no actual culture to speak of. Labor laws are such to protect the good old boy system. They think Ted Cruz is an upstanding guy. The think Abbott is a great governor. Guns mean more to them than their own children do. Did I mention this place is ugly?

I didn't watch the full video, but assuming that this isn’t part of the video, I also hate how Texans say, “Don’t mess with a Texan” or whatever, which pretty much sums up its community. Such jerks because I tell them why the state isn’t for me. If you love Texas so much, why don't you follow your state motto, and continue that going forward? Geez.

Man this brother is not lying. I currently live in Texas and I’m Christian. I moved here 10 years ago from Alabama and let me tell you I’m done being down south. What have a few interviews in a few spots I’ve visited out of state and I can’t wait to leave this place. The people are so arrogant and ignorant. God will judge the proud and give grace to the humble. These prideful Christians are just religious but not truly born again.

Funniest thing about this video for me is the sheer number of fast food joints he is flipping the bird to. I’m from Seattle, very few national fast food chains there. There’s are maybe 2 Burger Kings in the whole city. It’s mostly just McDonald’s, I think a couple Wendy’s and Taco Bell’s. I used to see the commercials for Sonic all the time going back to the 90’s but never actually went to one until about five years ago in Olympia. I never went to a Carl’s Jr. until I had to go to Vancouver Washington (Oregon border) for work and they had one there.

Moved here 6 years ago after graduating college and yeeeeah....I don't like it. Besides the heavily car-centric design (I hate driving, especially with Houston traffic and all the terrible drivers down here, plus I prefer walkable towns and cities), everything is just so damn backwards here and I've never had more people force their (also backwards) political views on me than while living down here. Currently plotting my exit strategy now. It's just such a toxic environment Also ditto on all the Christian stuff. I'm a believer too, but it's almost cult-like down here with Christianity being injected into almost everything. It's just really eery and off-putting, especially when you start getting into the rural communities.
