I have every album of gaslight anthem, this charming man, horrible crowes, molly and the zombies, everything that brian has ever done. Basically since around 2005? May be a year or 2 difference. But not too far off. And they have been my favorite band ever since. Social d was my favorite whole life. This song my Mum sang to us all as children and than her grandchildren.Jeannie sang this playing on the piano, starting with us on her knee. Even as grown married children we always enjoyed her singing this tune.Her nick name became Sunshine. Jeannie was all our rays of Sunshine. We sadly lost Mum May 2017, 3 yrs ago now and we miss her so, so so much. This song gives me great pleasure and warmth when I hear it. I have just bought Alexa -I ask Alexa daily to give me this tune so I feel connected to my Jeannie's soul, Our Sunshine.

Bassist is my cousin (name drop, Matt Santossss), this is the demo version, as in BEFORE it got kinda overproduced and (more) popped song-ed out.

I am pretty sure there are 3 versions of this song. The original one is from the self-titled EP released in 2007, then the one from The Rhumb Line. The one in this video is the demo that was released at the same time "Can You Tell" was released as a single for The Rhumb Line. Wes Miles' side band "Discovery" also did this song but titled it "Can You Discover."

This Charming Man played at my high school in Jersey. They played this song and I knew they were going to blow up one day. Then I never heard anything else from this band and was really bummed about it. Then I found Gaslight and realized it was pretty much the same band. I was also beyond thrilled this song, "1930", made it onto "Sink or Swim". Wish "Sweet Delta Blues" would have as well.

This is a wonderful version of thid song. I used to sing this to my kids when they were small. Now they are 25, 21& 20. But it meant so much to my youngest girl she got a piece of the song tattooed on her. Crazy how much of an impact the smallest things can have.
