Fleischer's Hotel: An Journey Through History Since 1864 | Voss
Not sure if it is for me. I'm afraid of heights 😦
If you go on days with few people, it will go better, since it's easier to cross people on the last part of the trail.
Vakker natur ❤🇧🇻👍
We are planning for nov 1 week for hike , is there chances of snow fall ?
There is 99% chance for snow. And there is not enough daylight to do the hike.
@@XploreNorway thanks , we will plan accordingly
@@XploreNorway hello , Do you have kind of guide reference who can guide during hike ?
How long did it take you to get up from P2 with heavy backpacks to camp with?
My friends who filmed it needed 5 hours from P2 to Trolltunga. But they didn't camp, and are well trained.
sucks that its so crowded, would love to hike this on my own without the company of anyone around
- If you go in low season like mid september, during on weekday you will be pretty alone. - There are other ways to trolltunga, but they are even harder - Do another hike, only 0.01% of all the hikes in Norway as so crowded.
It's not recommended to track alone, you can't count on there being a phone connection, if it's far away from people, and if there is no one else around, you might find yourself in a difficult and even deadly situation.
Thanks for sharing this tour. Can i do this tour at the end of november - i think there will be snow. Thank you for your answere
The tour to the cabin can be done all year. If there is snow, then they will make cross country tracks, just walk on the side of it, or you will meet angry skiers. We don't know how much snow there will be, but you will have to hurry, as you cannot do it in the dark. (Sunset is around 15:30)
@@XploreNorway ok thank you for your answere, it will be my first time in Norway and Oslo and i was looking for a short hiking trail 4 - 5 h. If i will do this, i have to reach a bus and train in the early morning. I don´t have cross country skiers so I have to walk.
Excellent tour guide! The best travel video I have seen so far.
Nice video. Wishing you a great weekend 😊
Can you name because i dont understand the parking place to use the easy path to the summit please?
It's the one we show at 2:24, it's next to the lake and the "Sami" souvenir shop. It's called Bitihødn: maps.app.goo.gl/mz7mWVXFXGhFTtDD9
Thank you for the video, its super informative, well structured and a great tourguide.
Nice wauw
I'm going in a few weeks, on a cruise with family. I appreciate the tips! And you're correct, most of us Americans are not up to a "Sunday afternoon walk".
The story behind that mistake: The company I work daily had a big event for the all offices around the world. We went to some hill near Oslo to do team building which included a one hour hike. All the people living in Norway just went straight into the woods and up to the summit, but the people from the US office thought we going to kill them.
Do you have any videos about the Lorn, Stryn, Olden area?
I only have this one: ruclips.net/video/zpPxb1rJEeo/видео.html Unfourtenately, there is nothing more planed for the coming years, unless I make something with 15 year old footage, but that would not be really up to date.
Do you have any videos about the Olden, Lorn, Stryn areas?
beautiful view, there's another way to get from P2 to P3 ... road is boring
If you check ut.no, you will see that there is a path on the otherwise of the stream. But it looks really, really steep. Also there is the path on the otherwise of the lake, but that's way longer and even more difficult.
This is a memorable revisit for me as I studied this area for my geology ph.d. 1962-1965. I had to camp for 3-4 months each summer so it was lovely to see the rocks again - the valdres sparagmite and the bitihorn gabbros, I continued my work in valdres for the next 15 years and finally finished mapping the fliensinden area. I worked as a geologist for 49 years before I retired. But in that time I had many visits to stavanger in my phase as a petroleum geologist, including a couple of months working in stat oil. Jake hossack.
Nice!
I've never seen such a good nature video format! Great work!
NICE I Like 🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹
Nice video. Have a Wonderful week 😊
Nice video 👍
How many km for round way? How much time you took to get to the top?
We say that in video in the first third: The trail is 5.5 km long and climbs over 1500 m. Allow 5 hours for the ascent and 3 hours for the descent. As usual, you will have to plan 10 to 11 hours for breaks.
@@XploreNorway thanks😊
@@XploreNorway holy f*** thats a long time. It is really huge! 😮
Really nicely explained trail access, follow and history information. I've started filming short vibe walks from Finnish nature / national parks. I'd like to reach your quality someday :p
Never hiking that, sorry. Looks like a pain and not even beautiful.
The best video I have seen on the net. We are looking for an itinerary similar to the one you have covered in this video. Can you please provide us with a bit more information on using ferries and if you have rental car how do you pay for the tolls etc?
I have a video about the ferries: ruclips.net/video/Yz6VuJ47Jn4/видео.html The rental company fixes the tollroad for you, you will be charged upon return. That include also the ferries.
Fosnavåg is nice 😊 Not far from Ålesund 😊 Hope you have a wonderful time
😱😱😱😱😱👍👍👍👍👍👍😥😥😥😥
Autopass is massively confusing, i thought as a good traveller to get it to prove to Norway i'm good traveller, instead i get punished by a rabbid hole of unclear reasons why to get it, how to get it, where to get it, if it is Cross company compatible, etc.
My grandmother’s family came from Hardanger, Norway. Family name: Bervin. 🇳🇴🇺🇸
Hello, how long does the trail takes? And where does it start? From Mannen or Uttakleiv? Thank you for you answer, I’ll be in Lofoten in few days!! Can’t wait 😊
Mannen is the top. It starts either from Uttakleiv or Haukland. I say in the video you nee to plan around 4 h with breaks.
If only it wasnt close to Oslo, most ugly and expensive city in norway (sorry for being Blunt, but it's the truth, Oslo is concrete, no heritage, straight boring streets, less nature (like fjord are less beautifull, even the main park is uninspiring (Ravnedalen Kristiansand 100000x better), etc, Trails like this are everywhere in Norway, in Belgium this is rare but tbh, it doenst matter where you are in Norway, you'll easely have a trail like this. Also: for tourist a trail without a view from top down to take images is worthless :) I can do forest walking at home (not Norway :D), or at late evening close to sleeping spot in norway, don't need to waste a hiking day on it. But to end on positive note, if for some weird reason i live In Oslo, i would certain someday do this hike.
You are totally right, the only reason I went there was because they made into a Nationalpark, and I wanted to test my new gear and workflow, before going on the real hikes. The truth is that if I go to some less known regions, which are better, nobody watches the videos. You will see that with the next two coming in 3 and 6 weeks. The last time I was there was in 2016, and only because a friend lives close by and we didn't want to drive far. If you ever come to Oslo, I will take you to some really impressive viewpoint, only the locals know about.
Very nice anf informative video. Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi, I'm just back from our first visit to Norway. Its a long story but we should have visited 9 years ago properly and had to cancel last minute. We decided to dip our toes in by visiting with our kids on a cruise. Nice, luxury accommodation and stopped at 4 ports. But each day there was thousands of people everywhere from the ship and we need to get back on the ship late afternoon. Of course, this is cruising We now wish to visit Norway again. This time by plane into ? then take a boat or train to a nice location and see if we can hire a Hut somewhere and literally just stay there for a week and explore that town, area as best as we can by foot, or boat trip or local bus. Its a big country and I think I have found a channel that will help me work out a good plan !
Thank you very much. Is there any specific area you are looking into?
@@XploreNorway Hi, I think we would fly into Bergen so probably somewhere accessible from there within a couple of hours from there. I’ll need to watch more of your videos to find a spot I think.
Thanks for the important information about the steep part 2:46 and 4:14, which many seem to forget to warn about or show properly.
Thank you. It's one of our main goal to tell about exactly these kind of pitfall. I was quite surprised when I arrived at that place that it was actually that steep myself. Unfourtenatly we could not show it with drone as there was way too much wind, rain and fog on that day. If you watch our other hiking videos, you will see that there are many warnings like that.
@@XploreNorway Most videos and tour guides say that Dronningruta is a medium hike, and that it's for everyone. No problem. But I don't think it is, and you highlighted it.
@@FlowithdaGo The lower part if for everybody. I think the people who did the ranking are locals which are used to worse path,
@@XploreNorway I just went there. We hiked the easy route on the ground from Stø to Nyksund. It was nice. But the hike uphill and downhill Nyksundskaret was pretty steep, challenging, and a little scary. Certainly not easy.
You really want some hiking fun? Start at parking P2 and climb via the forest to Trolltunga. It only took me two hours to climb four km. So yeah, it's very steep. On the positive side: my hike only lasted 8 hours and was 23 km long.
What about tipping at restaurants ?
You are not expected to tip at restaurants in Norway, but it's not unusual to tip around 10% at nicer places.
As said, you don't need to tip, you can if you think the staff deserves it.
Sister-in-law was a waitress in Norway for many years. She and the other waiters/waitresses expected tips from Americans. That being said, she also told me that she ignored her other customers when she had an American at a table and gave the American the best service because she expected a tip.
Прекрасно место.Норвешка оаза на мирот.
Going next week 😍
Are there drinking water available during the hike or should hikers carry all needed water from beginning?
Between Memuburu and the beginning of Besseggen there are several water sources you can drink off. The cleanest is from the stream out of the small lake. Between Besseggen and Gjendesheim there you will have to carry all water yourself.
@@XploreNorway Is it so that glacier water shouldn't be drinked?
@@vonheiz Yes, but glacier water is only find in Gjende and the river Muru, which you will only see at the beginning of the hike. Not along the hike.
@@XploreNorway is turquoise water main indicator that tells that water is from glacier?
@@vonheiz Yes, Ørjan explains it about halfway in the video.
Great thank you very much 🍺
Hei.. so if I understand well this route not recquer guide and you don't cross the glacier?? Can you tell me what is the name of starting point? Thank you
Yes, this route doesn't cross a glacier. You can do it without a guide, but if you are unsure you can always take one. Just don't do like my friends and go up in fog. It's starts at the DNT cabin Spiterstulen. We show it at the beginning of the video. Check the transcript how to write it.
👍
❤
I like how the Europeans build, and then they forget about it for as long as the things last. They don't overbuild so much
Oslo has the very strict Markaloven, the Wildernes law, which forbids construction in the forrest and mountain area in the North and East. Some promoters would like to move, but the politics hold strong against.
Very nice video 👌 Nice hike and beautiful summits 😊
Thank you.
I lived there from 1990 to 1994 ☺️
Nice. Were you part of the project ?
@@XploreNorway I came there with the AWO from Lübeck to Nyksund. I lived in the Sturmhaus next to the old bakery 😌 We also ran the “Top10” disco, I also played Øknes music on the radio, worked as a band... just lived it up 😅 My best times and still today the insider from Nyksund with various contacts, also with a few local people from Myre 😌
what about motorcycles?
Same as cars, you need to register and your registration number will be scanned.
Take weather into account check, i'm following it non stop (to learn) and talking with a friend in Hardanger area. Don't plan to much, we planned a lot, but are flexible to cancel stuff, and we put in extra days to have them done. Don't go without a plan: check, i plan virtuous everything in Excel, not to execute it all, but to be able to travel without stress, all adres to go to, stuff to do, alternative, cost (very important), etc is planned. Don't go to short: check, it will be a month (including 3 days to get there and 3 to get back), 18 days in Hardanger (prime area). Preikestolen: with people like you saying not to go i was almost convinced it's a tourist trap. And amount of tourist, yes it's true, but the path is beautifull, the views are amazing, and as a photographer, videographer, it's super sad to miss this out. But i did research very hard to avoid tourist trap. Going earlier then 8 am (say 7 am) seems to be a good thing and we literaly sleep as close as possible (other then preikestolen basecamp). Another one i would say: a lot of area's look similar in norway. Either visit only one of those, or research the ones that actually look better then average. For instance Geiranger fjord is more average then you would think, there is better all in one fjords. Last unless you are the core type of ppl for the cruiseship business: skip them. Swimming in a pool or sitting in a boat can be done elsewhere and cheaper (and with better weahter probably. Want to take selfie stick pictures?, the ships prevent it, theres cables everywhere and the front of the ship is prohibited, forcing only sideway images: they are not good trust me :D Plan to stop along the way, there are mini parkings at waterfalls, roads next to fjords, to see the beauty, missing them cause of rushing is a big mistake, the slow flow of Norway, embrace it and use it, in this manner! Cost: the place we stay at (main one) is 57€ per day :D The safes biggest cost, most others are 100€, but preikestolen 50€ as well, brandasund 100 (while most are 250e). I will soon go there :)
