    Seeing how you could turn Fusion 360 parts into CNC parts was really helpful, so we'll definitely consider doing something like this for this season. Thank you so much for making this video!

    Our team was wondering how to mate parts in CAD, so this was perfect for that! It's good to know that mating parts is more time-efficient than putting everything together by hand, so thank you for creating this video! - Team 8642

    This video helped me get started with this software. I have it on my computer but I didn't really use it since it look really complicated. This video simplified things a lot though which is great because I am now more confident to use this software. -Team 8719

    This video is very informative! What makes Fusion 360 better than Solid Works and why? Our team is try to determine which CAD software to use this year.-Team 8719

    • @innovatorsftc2101

      We use both softwares, Solidworks is extremely good if you are creating assemblies, or anything with multiple parts.

      We don't have any experience with Solid Edge, but Fusion 360 integration with CAM is unparralelled across CAD softwares, and is good for making individual parts.

    Thank you very much for the helpful tips on mating. Our question is, what CAD programs do you recommend if a team does not have a powerful enough computer for Solidworks? -Wildcard Robotics 18335

    • @innovatorsftc2101
      @innovatorsftc2101 4 года назад

      Fusion 360 is a good program, while it works great for making custom parts, it is very difficult to mate using it. Another program we recommend is Onshape, which is web-based and allows multiple people to edit parts at one time. (essentially a google docs version of cad)

      Of course, as the season progresses, you would want to add sections covering different mechanisms on your robot, but a basic outline might include the following: Business Sponsors and Tiers Sustainability Budget Plan Marketing Future Team Members Engineering CAD Programming Strategy Maintenance Building (This is where your mechanism sections would be) Practice Log Outreach

    I had a question regarding Soldering. After watching you guys solder, I've wanted to try it, but I don't think that I'm not experienced enough to actually try it so I wanted to get some insight from you guys. How long do you guys think it would take to actually learn to solder and manage to do it both efficiently and correctly. There seems to be a lot of finesse and precision as well as some heat. So I wanted to know how long it would approximately take to learn how to solder? - Team 8719

      I think without 3D printing, molding isn’t as useful. I don’t know where we’d find a mold for a triangle intake wheel if we didn’t print it ourselves.

    I wanted to ask a question regarding Fusion 360. Where would I be able to learn more about Fusion 360 and the different commands and operations that you can do with it? I really love this software and want to keep using it throughout my FTC season. If I can find more tutorials about Fusion 360 and relations with FTC, I'll be really happy. - Team 8719

      NYC CNC has a ton of amazingly helpful videos regarding Fusion 360's CAM, I have learned many good tricks from them. Another thing I personally do is once I know the basics of a software I'll just mess around in it and get to know things at the base level, so when you are introduced to more complex methods or ideas its easier to understand. Also feel free to email us at innovators3311@gmail.com for any specific CAM/FTC related questions! Thanks, Zephyr

  • @Saran_Kalaiyarasan
    @Saran_Kalaiyarasan 4 года назад

    Wow!!! I have never seen software that is this detailed and complex. But the thing is that you made something so complex look so simple. The commands that you are operating onto the FTC parts look similar to that of parts we are using on our robot. This opened my eyes to the possibility of making own custom FTC parts and making an all custom robot. Thank you so much for showing me this possibility and opening up new opportunities for the future. - Team 8719

      Fusion 360, while great at making individual custom parts and CAM, isn't very good with mating, so we don't recommend it if you plan on importing part and creating assemblies.
